Cromwell vs. infantry

Its main gun accuracy vs. inf seems... lackluster. This might just be me, which is why I made the thread. I'm totally open (and expecting) for that to be the case. Is it tho, or is it not amazing vs. infantry? Just a simple question, no buff/nerf calling here.

In GCS balance patch it had scatter increase as well as on the move debuff moved from 0.75 to 0.5.

Ah ok I thought there was some change. Is it worse against infantry than comparable tanks, say, the p4 and t34 (since the sherman has much better AI performance due to HE shells)? And did this affect the comet too, like the moving accuracy nerf?

It affected comet too. Brought Brit tanks in line with Ost counterparts.

Except the dps of the Ostheer MGs is about twice as good.

that is because P4 has pintle mounted mg. Cromwell still cheaper as a unit and to get tech wise.

At a cost ;)
They're also slower and don't have commander upgrade or free warspeed with a bit of tech

To be fair, they do have more armor (especially at vet2) and slightly better penetration too tho.

Argueing like that is about the same level as measuring a Jagdtigers mobility by its unupgraded version: weak.

Im not arguing one is better than the other im simply stating the asymetric balance between two tanks

Oh whoops. I thought I remembered smith saying that the p4 had superior pen at long range (maybe that's in the balance preview?).

My bad.

Stop spamming threads already?

Wow

That's like, months worth of threads, and a lot of them were fairly simple questions like this. Why do you care anyway? If it's against etiquette, I guess I can stop making threads or something.

...and if Axis armor had the same armor values as Allied then the pen values really would be equivalent....

Yes but since they don't, the higher allied pen makes their tanks more cost effective since they're also cheaper in addition to being more effective pen wise. At least for the sherman and T34/76. The cromwell is more or less meh now since its nerfs.

Um, most Axis tanks have a lot higher armor which makes the Allied tanks much less cost effective. Sure, most Allied tanks are a little cheaper but that is getting excited over a buy-thirty-get-one-free sale.

If you really thought that Allied tanks were so great, you'd actually be playing them. All of your USF rankings are on hold. You've barely any USF games anyway, as opposed to many hundreds of OKW games.

Playercard means many things, but being able to describe an entire player is something they do not do in full detail. I play OKW mainly because I find them enjoyable and therefore I play them the most. High armor means absolutely nothing if your opponet gets lucky and his tanks decide to penetrate. As opposed to lower costing tanks whose effectiveness is fixed.

Watching GCS? Cromwells rape infantry still and perform way above their price still. They are a lot better than a 125 fuel p4 :luvCarrot:
