I can say that after I salvaged, all my commanders were not showing as "flashing new items". I'm hoping they salvaged the gifted ones (that should have been flashing as new.

Do you notice a glance animation on new items right after you get them? Salvageable items have it. Moreover I think you always salvage a dupe (item which came later) and not an original one.

There is a post below were the question has been asked. The global conclusion is : we don't really know.

But this is Relic we are talking about. So personally i won't salvage anything.

You will loose your perma skins. I tried on my cheap skins and didn't work.

Stormless just revealed that relic never intended to make these skins/commanders salvageable.

And if you salvaged your duplicates, you have salaveged the items you bought, not the free ones.

However relic will fix it

Well promotion appears to be over and store is back to normal and I seem to have all my skins (+ commanders) still.

I can't be entirely sure but I seem to still have ALL the skins - a few have the little animation'sheen' thing.

Hmm maybe this is premature - promotion advert has gone but perhaps stuff hasn't reverted yet
