Pak 43 both Werhm and OKW doesn't affected by any smoke. Whethere it Sherman Smoke or Scott.
Pak 43 just shot through the smoke between target and Pak or when it covered by smoke.
Just double checked in cheat mode

We know. That's not something we can fix though. We -might- be able to make it lose accuracy if shooting through smoke, but I can't promise anything.

Isn't this true for all things? If another unit is providing LOS, the smoke's LOS blocker does nothing.

No. That property only holds for stuff that have "penetrating" shells. e.g.,:
- Jagdtiger piercing rounds
- B4 direct shot
- etc
In order to fire through stuff, you also need to be able to ignore shotblockers. Smoke only acts as a shotblocker. Ergo, smoke is treated in the same way as buildings; it's ignored

So if I'm understanding this right, smoke acts as a shotblocker in that units do not attack through it. But it doesn't actually block shots, which is why Attack Ground is an effective counter.
Possible fix, maybe: Increase aim time x1000 while in smoke, so it does not fire. Attack ground would need to use a separate weapon then in order to still be usable.
Things to watch out for: Being abandoned while in Smoke might leave it permanently crippled, as CoH2 likes to make temporary modifiers permanent when a unit is abandoned. Also double-tapping by using attack ground immediately after a normal shot is fired.

A bit OP bit I believe their T4 HQ truck with the flak gun ignores smoke as well. Or maybe it was WP smoke shells, will have to test it tonight.

It definitely doesn't ignore normal smoke. I think it can shoot through the usf white phosphorus barrage in the rifle company tho.

To my knowledge the b4 direct shot ability still requires an unobstructed direct line of sight (firing line) or did that change at some point?

Does it? I remember countless times when B4's direct shell hit obstacles like buildings or bunkers on the way to the target.
