If you nefr DShK people gonna build... uhm... honestly, I can't remember a soviet unit that hasn't it's own 'op pls nerf'-thread. You nerf something - people find something useful and starting to use it - you nerf it - REPEAT.
conscripts! (non ppsh version of course)

If you nerf this mg, the soviets have no viable early game suppression platform left. The nerfs for the Maxim were so severe, that people will now resort to the doctrine that provides them the same synergy that the old maxim spam gave them whilst being able to stall for call in spam.
The general problem here is not the DHSK as a unit (although it is OP and insta pins lol), but rather the Soviet early game as a whole. The maxim nerfs only harshly showed this to us again.
No, Soviet early game is OP enough as it is with super Penals with nuclear satchels nuking everything they see. M3+Flamer cheese is also an option. Cons are an option too but no one wants too use a secretly OP unit at vet 3. Soviets are supposed to suck late game because OP early game and mid game with T70 wipes. Any MGs that are durable enough to serve as frontline infantry is cancer. Soviets have doctrines too support late game anyway so it's not like you can't pull the IS2 out of your ass and wipe squads left and right.

Lel, if you lose penals to Grens/Volks, you're doing something horribly wrong.
T70 is still very potent since they fixed its inconsistentcy, much better than the Luchs mind you
Give them a dropped weapon and see them become commandos
IS2 is good, what the hell are you smoking, good stats all around and better than the KT/Tiger lol

Lol, you clearly never used Cons before because OP Penals and IS2 you used it idiotically. OK I get the message you guys want to buff Cons to OP levels again. Screw brits, screw USF let's all hop on the OPAF Sov train.

Maybe some slight tweaks to its suppression to help it avoid the a-move creep. With a slight increase in MP cost as well to reflect it functioning as an elite unit.

I don't like them either, but against OKW you don't have any choice since if you get a quad for suppression you will get one shotted by creeping raketens and will lose a massive investment.

maybe if axis infantry would not be so frigging resistant to suppression and having high DPS along with spammable nades, then people would use maxims instead dshkas.

Yep. Pretty much.

yeah right... cons get supressed by half a burst from a MG42 and stay supressed for 30 seconds or more, while volks would get from pinned to normal state before you could even reposition the pre nerf maxim.

Suppression and Pinning
Rifleman Squad:
Suppressed Threshold: 0.2
Suppressed Recovery: 0.15
Pinned Threshold: 0.6
Pinned Recovery:0.5
Conscript Squad:
Suppressed Threshold: 0.2
Suppressed Recovery: 0.15
Pinned Threshold: 0.6
Pinned Recovery:0.5
Volksgrenadier:
Suppressed Threshold: 0.2
Suppressed Recovery: 0.15
Pinned Threshold: 0.6
Pinned Recovery:0.5
Almost no infantry is different in terms of thresholds. Even Obers are the same as standard infantry in terms of their suppressed modifiers. Note, range also heavily affects suppression, the deeper you go into an MGs arc, the more suppression and DPS you will take.
If DShka were to be changed, I think maybe just suppression could be toned down so it's not a 1-2 burst pin or it just deals worse vs units in cover so you can actually take shelter vs its very high modifiers.

IMO DSHK is good, only 2 doctrines has it, it cost more than maxim and arrive only in 2 cp. You can't see more than 2 of them on 1vs1. Because first luchs will wipe all of them without any troubles (only total noob can lost luchs against mg....but this another theme).
