Couldn't agree more with the last part you wrote. CoH2 is different from vCoH, I get this and this is not an effort to make the game more like vCoH for the sake of it, but resource distribution among strategic points are in comparison watered down and hold very little meaning. It doesn't have to be extreme but I believe that more distinction would add to the game.
For example changing the current distribution from
+5M/+3F, +11M, +7F to something like
+4M/+2F, +15M, +9F or even
+3M/+1F, +17M, +12F.
The math around it is easy, but dependant on the map pool. You just take the average resources on every map and since they are all symmetric you can just divide the results by two and reallocate the distribution in a more distinct manner across the average amount of (dedicated) resource points.

It's just a question whether we believe this is a good thing or not.

That's actually not a bad idea. But i believe the current maps are a bit of a lost cause at this point without redesigning. If relic wants more user generated content, then more varied, and tiered, resource points are necessary for just basic principles of map design.

Currently the limited worldbuilder options hamstring both user and relics own attempts to create maps for this game

Small bug, Soviet buildings don't deform the ground lower enough. You should see the floor of the building, but instead you see the ground. This happens for T1, T2, and T3 (T4 is entirely above ground). Ostheer is not affected by this, their buildings are all properly dug in.

About cons, would it be cool to add dp28 (dmg reduction, only one lmg, less accurate than guards, etc) to cons after, let's say t1 AND t2 are researched, would that overlap the role of guards. Cheers.

Much better. ;)

(Seriously though, I'd love to see more global upgrades as a means than individual unit upgrades.)

That might be a rather interesting requirement for an upgrade (be is DP-28 or PPSh) for conscripts. T1 and T2 as a prerequisites would provide access to a much needed boon to conscripts to keep them relevant in the battlefield, without making the upgrade a no-brainer or freely available without consequences in tech rushing.

You can, and faust is available to Ostruppen.

In addition your claim was that Gren have and advantage because their faust has not tech cost. It has it is the T1 building and it is actually a mandatory cost.

If things in your opinion should be equal one should not be able to make conscripts until he researched AT grenades...

Actually no, you cant.

Prostruppen require you to build T1 if you wish to use faust

Just a quick question.

Why do we have 2 Moscow Outskirts? They're basicly the same now that cold-tech has been removed.

One would be fine...what does our balance team think about this?

If you play a mod, you know, that flak HT arrive at 4-5 min in the game, its to early.

That doesn't mean locking a HT behind a medic upgrade makes any sense. Literally.

"Penals can upgrade to a Flamer & PPSh package for 70 munitions"

Just wondering:

It is consent that Sturmgrenadiers scale quite bad. Why dont we discuss adding a flame upgrade for them? It would make sense in terms of "lore" (they are assaulting inf after all) as well as in terms of game balance (they are currently to weak for mid and late game).

Whenever we see Tier 4 often enough in 1vs1.

You won't see Tier 4 often in 1v1 since Panther sucks, panzerwerfer isn't worth it and Brumbahr alone isn't enough to justify Tier 4.

Call-ins > Teching.
Big deal and news to no-one, they are better off adressing first infantry balance and then they can worry about armor, Panther is weak because many games are well decided before you can considering teching up to build one.

Agreed. That is why I asked when Panther would be in scope. Happy holidays.

Dear modders, any chance at all Relic will agree to release the no-brainer changes (quality of life, bugfixes, US mortar nerf) in an earlier patch? 2v2 has always been an arty fest but it's never been quite as obnoxious as a USF going double mortar, and I would hate to have to play it like this until Februaryish.

Heh yeah, I am just waiting for the time to be able to learn the Germans without going negative, Merry Kurismasu.

penals right now are way too strong. so you give them ptrs and seeking AT satchels? whaa?? heres my 2 cents. penals make no sense currently. historically they were given the worst equipment, often times given sticks and told to run directly across minefields and at defensive positions. the only rifles they got were the ones they beat out of the hands of germans if they could. so why do they start with an advanced SVT rifle? i think they should start with mosins, and given the option to buy svt rifles with munitions. penals just dont make any sense in this game. why do untrained prisoners defeat volksgrenadiers and grens 1v1?

It was slightly more complex than that - while there were certainly events of shtrafbats being used in manners only slightly less directly than outright being executed anyway, it was still frequent that they would be personally equipped to actually have a chance in an assault against their foes for win-win reconnaissance-in-force - under close supervision, naturally.

The SVTs definitely make little sense historically, though. They would got Mosins and PPShes like everyone else could expect to.
