the trench is the british 'equivalent' to the ostheer and okw bunkers, and the usf fighting pit, all of which cannot be stolen either. Comparing it to the ostheer one is wierd to me because its two totally different factions. Relic was pretty lazy to just reuse the model from the ostheer one which in turn unnecessarily draws this comparison between the two imo(btw allow ostheer one to garrison a mortar again)

The way the vickers vets, aka vet 1 with the increased range in buildings(trenches) implies that it is designed for being put in trenches.

so, Conclusion: The trench is designed to be used as a unique occupyable MG nest/bunker for a vetted vickers. It can be used for tommies too, but using it as a bunker is without a doubt the best usage of the trench. Allowing it to be capturable by any pleb would be overly punishing to the british faction, which is riding a fine line between batshit op and weak as a noodle

How about we make them actually die to attacks, mortars, or whatever. like ordinary bunkers first, before we essentially remove the trench from the game

I'm undecided whether they should allow them to be stolen.

Making them easier to kill with AT-guns would be good. Perhaps they should only be build-able in connected territory.
