But no one is so blind to not notice 5sec red flares, or even more - don't remember how long excatly.

The thing is, USF and Soviet both don't have that much static defense, like bunkers and PAK43 or even hull down. So it's a bit risky to use. I would rather see it tweaked with reduced price, reduced damage and maybe increased shrapnel AOE.
Yea if this was on the allied side it would be super useful. Pak 40, all OKW trucks, Whermacht bunker/AT clusters, slow moving super-heavies. The difference is the soviets and US don't have many slow or immobile options to use it on.

It's obviously against static positions. Allies don't really have much of them but you can make them move from a camping ground with it and maybe hit something as a bonus.

Very poor ability.Almost never hits anything. And very costly. It should be without flares but shows area on minimap like sector arty, then player not paying attention will atleast be taken by surprise when first round hits.

It will never have no warning. It is far too powerful for that and the only call-in with warning has a very loud and long sound effect. If it had no warning smoke it would be way overpowered.

Not really,it would mean only first shell is undetected unless minimap blip is checked.Fair for 200 muni.Given the time interval between 1st and 2nd shell, its easy to avoid subsequent shells.

Ok, it takes 10-13 secs before first strike... Come on...

It is similar to the time on target or armor company arty Americans drop. It isn't going to hit anything that can move out of the way but it forces your opponent to vacate a sizable region or risk being obliterated. Allies just tend to have less fortified field defenses than axis forces so there are fewer opportunities to vaporize a forward HQ or fighting position. At least with the osttruppen doctrine you can essentially spam it if you don't care about spending your fuel on tanks.

It's footprint is almost exactly the same as the that of a USF base...

Otherwise, it's often more about area denial and forcing movement than it is about raw damage.

It's targeting circle may be the size of a USF Base, but that is a rather large area for scatter.

I saw a railway artillery just miss a direct hit on an SU85 and it barely even scratched the paint, this was 2 shells as well btw. Forgot to save the replay, Wish I had now just to show how bad this ability actually is.

This might be the worst off map in game.

I'll take it over:
-Major artillery
-300 muni Fortifications offmap

But major is non doctrinal.

About second one, that's why I said it might be the worst but still it is one of the two worst.

Railway: i can at least kill artillery with it.
Fortifications: i hope he just retreat in fear of the flares.

The 105 Howitzer artillery is extremely powerful, and at 500+ muni can easily destory the USF base completely. Railway really needs a buff atm, especially since it's outperformed by the B4 in everyway.

Another reason why we should look at some of the old commanders for Vanilla factions, the only time this arty is useful is when you can either spot a Ambulance with Major or Sov Mgs and that's it.

Yeah both Ostheer and Soviets have some simply "WHY" tier commanders, but USF and OKW both have some shit ones and none of the number so allow them to really avoid them.

OKW: only Elite Armor. The other 5 are pretty good or at least useful.
USF: only Dodge, pretty gimmicky and that's it. Not too much above is the Greyhound Comm which at least is a wiping machine and the pathfinder can be useful to nuke forward OKW bases.
