Since i couldn't find the stats for the USF MHT, i realized something fishy. Look at this:

http://stat.coh2.hu/squad.php?filename=m1_81mm_mortar_squad_mp
http://stat.coh2.hu/squad.php?filename=m21_mortar_halftrack_squad_mp

They have the same weapons listed. Does this mean that USF MHT is also broken OP ATM ? (At least it doesn't get double stack of scatter through vet...)

Yes, but that unit costs more and requires 2 cp; therefore, it shouldn't be as much of a problem when compared to the early, cheap and equally powerful squad version. We might need to keep in mind that the next patch may transform the half track into a moving pile of shit though.

Checked on mod tools, according to that you're right. But of course it's not necessarily the same as in-game, so I checked the units' performance with CheatCommands and it also seemed about the same to me as well.

Honestly, that's a pretty fair point, especially since the M21 doesn't have the egregious additional 0.8 scatter from vet 1 to turn it into a laser-guided bomb lobber like the weapon team.

The point is, the USF MHT was supposed to be a copy paste from the OH MHT after they properly buff it.

The current version is still ahead in terms of scatter.

There's also a discrepancy between the AA and the barrage. Barrage is supposed to be more "accurate". This is not the case for the USF mortars.

what if they switched stats for barrage and aa ?
Now that I think about it it would fit the role of mg counter bad scatter on AA but accurate and fast barrage to kill mg

the us mortar team and mortar HT link to the weapon file/entry . The mortar HT have the same bug as the mortar team but not as severe.

So it still makes enemy units that get hit keep appearing in the fog of war for a while?

I do not remember that a Mortar HT could hit something, the more to wipe.

every weapon do that.

the problem with US mortar is that the enemy unit stay revealed for too long.

usually with wehr mortar, the target stay revealed for ~ 1 second. The USF mortar reveal a enemy for something like 10 seconds.

That unit was so useless, I stopped using the commander... Lost so many to counter barrage it's not funny.

I tested the two in a comp stomp. The mortars seem very similar but the infantry version vets up faster per kill. The kill numbers were pretty close until the infantry mortar hit vet 3 first, then it left the mht behind.

they link to the same weapon but veterancy requirement and bonus are linked to the squad.

the 81mm mortar team have vastly superior veterancy
