Kyle:
We have recently squashed some bugs with the USF mortar that will have an effect on it's current performance. We are currently in the process of testing these bug fixes to ensure stability and effectiveness of the changes. We anticipate launching these fixes sometime early next week and patch notes will be provided at that time.

So long as it destroys cover and offers free smoke, I guess I will use it from time to time, else I'll just go back to 3-4 Riflemen openers.

Yeah, it should really be a situational weapon, such as when there is low ammo for nades, lots of MG42s/34s, or plenty of shot-blockers.

But why do they try to fix broken mortar instead of switching for a mortar which was tested through preview? .............

because they are too proud to admit that a amateur can balance better than them, but the result proved it.

They already did by applying the last patch.

I've been trying to make a joke reply but I honestly don't even know what to make a joke of, because I can't theorise a reason in the first place why they would do what they did (and then not immediately undo it) so there's nothing to make a satire of.

The old mortar was just a german clone, both in it's model and it's stats. A more unique, version for usf would be better even if it's just keeping it the 81mm model it's better for austhetic reasons.

One week later: mortar stats fixed but now using combined arms near it causes it to fire like a machinegun.
