Why, have you already tried it or something?

I did something similar with a Grenadier sergeant buffing Squad accuracy

Once BP1 is researched:

5th man upgrade

OR

Lmg-42 upgrade.

5-man Grens will be op as hell even without LMG, we have run lots of test on them

Keep the current squad formation and add some received accuracy or HP buff will be good enough for them

Why not giving them a kind of bonus while in cover (yellow/green), like IS. Something vs indirect fire.

Was that test with or without a cost increase? Just curious. I'd figure making the squad bigger (and more expensive) would be worse in some ways, since it means you have to devote more popcap/manpower per LMG.

are you trying to invalidate the usefulness of the tommies' squad size?

and the grenadier should not get a fifth men. The wehr is the glass cannon faction. Their infantry get the easiest access to firepower in exchange for speed and durability.

This is also why giving the uber mortar and dual lmg to the USF utterly breaks the balance. The USF shouldn't get the uber mortar and the wehr shouldn't get a fifth man on their grenadier.

The most the grenadier should get is formation adjustment and Received accuracy buff.

Glass cannons don´t work well in a game that is focused about obtaining veterancy on your units. Su-76 and Jackson - which I also consider glass cannons - at least have 60 range to dodge shots. Mainline infantry on the other hand should be able to bolster your forces and be able to keep up a fight.

Tommies don't get more expensive to buy once you get the 5th guy, and they can pack 2 LMG's per squad. If every gren squad was 5 men, and cost more, then you'd be paying more manpower and popcap per LMG you wanted on the ground.

Brits don't really need to consider this because they need those tommies anyhow for medics and FO teams. You buy grens because you want an LMG squad (and a snare). You buy tommies because tommies are the core of the faction, and then you put LMG's on them because everything is better with LMG mayonnaise.

Just give each model an aura which pushes of other squad members like vehicles push off friendly infantry
Otherwise the Grens are great, amazing DPS and the fact that they are long-ranged which is priceless gives a kreygasm, just those bloody one-shoots are frustrating
The loader would be amazing too

keep in mind that both the rifleman and conscript have terminator vet that significantly boost their durability. Both the Soviet and USF had significant problem with manpower bleed without those bonus.

the grenadier's excellent long range firepower mean that it can more easily punish the enemy while staying out of harm's way. They don't have to dive like the conscript and rifleman do.

stuff like the british mortar and USF mortar broke the balance, but the grenadier themselves are still fine-ish.

the british are already paying for a 5 men squad in the beginning. The 4 men tommies are not worth 280 mp.

Grens are a long range unit. They have excellent accuracy and damage at long range.

Keep them at long range
Cover them with an mg to keep enemy troops at a good distance.

Seriously, why is this so hard for axis players to understand?

and the USF mortar is completely overpowered. Nerf the USF mortar.

even with 5 men squad, grenadiers are not going to be able to stand up to the abomination that is double USF mortar + dual m1919a6 blob.
