It is either a random event or an actual bug. If you leave it on free fire then the shells randomly hit vehicles at the other part of the map. (rails and road)

I think many guns are capable of randomly hitting stuff beyond their actual target. There was a video once with a random pak shot killing an ambulance on the other part of semoisky or sth.

You need to understand that what you call a "range of a gun" is in fact a maximal distance of aiming, not maximal range of its shells. So if you aim at something and you miss, the shell can land in any random spot in the cone that is created by a weapon and target silhouette. It can be far, far away from initial target, and thus targeting range.

To be honest I reckon that shells need to not do any damage past a certain point, its too much RNG luck when you snipe a unit you should not have with a shell

I just got my sherman back into my base and focused somewhere else while the crew was repairing, when I came back and tried to order the crew to enter the vehicle again just realized it was burning.

I remember on a map of Langreskya (Sorry for terrible spelling) a stray Panzershreck rocket was supposed to go after a Sherman as the rocket flew across the entire map and destroyed the USF player's ambulance.

Projectiles have legit trajectories in this game so it can happen with extreme RNG and elevations permitting. Ive seen it twice on langreskeya with the south base gettig sniped from the north, one being a .org trending video

Its a trick i use when the enemy tank has just gone out of range in the fog of war. I tell my pak gun to fire at max distance and SOMETIMES he over shoots his target and the projectile hits the enemy vehicle outside the arc of fire.

Nah, penetration drop off ends at the vehicles "max range", so if a tank with 100 penetration at max range shoots and misses, and the shell goes to the other side of the map and hits something, it still has 100 penetration.
