Similar stuff was happening in CoH1 also. When your codebase is basically previous game with some graphic improvements you will have same bugs.

Seems like lulic is competent or they just dont care since they milk this game a lot. Plan was to release OP commanders so they milk some dollars from players.

No doubt about that, almost made this game P2W.Any similar game with coh2 that's balanced?

Don't know about similar game. Men of war is too much micro. Starcraft 2 is balanced but it is different genre.

I too have yet to find a truly very similar game to the CoH series as well. If it exists, it seems to me no one knows about it. While there are certainly many RTSes based on many wars, none others provide the same feel of on-the-fly terrain interaction, positioning, movement and preservation to all of its mobile units (in most RTSes for example, basic infantrymen are based largely entirely around spam or garrisoning defensive buildings and in many cases will be rendered obsolete entirely by later units. In most realistic RTSes, infantrymen are plodding snails to prop up your lines, fill up defensive terrain and get killed so your more valuable units won't [...just like in real life, but that's not very fun])

Doesn't anyone find it scary that a panther can't take on any of the British tanks?

Really think the wher Panther needed a buff to front armor and penetration... That's all that's missing from this patch imo... If a German player doesn't have doctrine tanks vs a British player they're probably screwed.

I agree ost need a buff on their tanks as well... The only unit that can really penetrate is the elefant... Panthers need a bit of a buff as well as the tiger penetratation

You are right. Soviet really requared buffs and they got it. But ostheer dont.

Ostheer is by far the most frustrating, hard and annoying faction to play as. Because of useless vet abilities, kinda meh commanders, which not changing your gameplay. Probably the most usefull commanders - osttroopen and mech. assault and puma doctrines, simply because they at least somehow, allow ost to stay and counter all kinds of BS.

Whole ost gameplay is based around soviets and allow to play more or less effectively against old soviets (while new soviets will have advantage over ost after patch). Pretty much ostheer have weakest early and mid game, without any good shock unit, without good light armor, without any usefull vet abilities aside from sniper and MG42.

The old aurgument was - but ost have good armor. True, but this aurgument is irrelevant now, because Brits have, if not the better, but armor which is on pair with Ostheer. Soviets had numerious SU-76 and now SU-85 which will be able to counter whole T4 and cheap and powefull T34\85.

The thing is that ostheer is so badly out-dated and out of meta, so pretty much its pointless and frustrating to play as them. Pretty much all factions got re-made. Even mortar for USF means HUGE changes in general gameplay, not to mention soviets and OKW, which were fully re-made.

While ostheer remain the same ostheer from 2013, which was meant to fight only against soviets. All changes were nerfs and minor changes, which made them weaker in general. Sure something got buffed, but its more like it was things like bundlenades, which was simply useless or badly over-priced tech.

Except for cromwell, comet, firefly and churchills?

Who cares, the Panther is completely redundant. If they removed it from the game tomorrow nobody would miss it.

JUNE 21st BALANCE UPDATE

Mines (General-Purpose and Tellers)

  • Engine destroy and Tread Break Criticals removed from all mines.

"All mines" means "General-Purpose and Tellers" or indeed ALL mines including Riegel and M20?

They initially planned on 3 commanders per faction, just as in Vcoh. Each commander would change the look of the HQs and would give you acces to, I assume, the different units (that are now all spread out in commanders) via teching. There is some great early concept art in this thread about this.

https://www.coh2.org/topic/49516/good-rejected-things-in-coh-2/post/495726

By the time THQ was dying (and this was obvious for a few months), I think they had no choice but to release a game that was nowhere near finished and they had to dump a lot of their early designs and ideas etc. This is why for example the coh2 vanilla factions are so simply designed compared to some of the WFA factions and the Brit faction. They had to rush everything and keep it simple in order for them to get it working in time, which eventually they failed at lol.

When Sega took over coh2, then we got the bullshit dlc lunacy.

What if I told you the bullshit dlc lunacy was already planned by THQ since the HQ based on doctrine concept was scrapped at concept phase already and never made it to the game.

In fact, THQ planned the DLCs waaay before that.
What do you think CoHO was? It was a monetization experiment for CoH2, nothing else.

Hell, look at THQ preorder bonuses and when you could preorder.
DLCs were planned even before they started actually coding coh2.

+1.

If you're not top 250 or better, balance is your least concern.
