Hello, fellow commanders.
I can't recall the last time I see player building 20mm Flak Emplacement of OKW. They are useless and doctrinal (meaning it's a waste of ability slot), can't even beat a .50 cal. I'm thinking of way of improving its performance to make it at least not a "waste of resource and time" and of course not OP.

So first of all Let's see its current profile
http://www.coh2-stats.com/small_arms/flak_emplacement_20mm

My thought:

·Change its weapon profile from Small arms to Ballistic
·Burst duration change from 0.5/0.75 to 1
·Accuracy from 0.025/0.05 to 0.1/0.2
·Remove suppression
·Damage change from 15 to 12
·Cant be de-crewed (Idea of MissCommissar and mortiferum)
·Projectile ignores terrain (Idea of Mortiferum)
·Price adjustment(not so sure about it)

All critics and advises are welcomed, including fanboys'

Main problem about this gun is - too easy to off it by decrewing. Pretty strange, that bigger version of it, which is also non-doctrinal (bofors) is almost immortal, specially with brace.

Guess 2cm position should be like "small version of boforos". Brace, non-decrewable, but less damage.

My suggestion is remove it.

Replace with the 37mm flak found on Panzer HQ, in an emplacement similar to Bofor.

No brace, no barrage, but cheaper and suppresses while dealing less damage.

Area denial/ support rather than unit removal.

-----------

More reasonable suggestion

Remove decrew
Keep damage as is
Increase accuracy, suppression, remove stupid hit ground in front of emplacement bug.

 Non-decrewable seems a good idea. The biggest problem of 2cm AA position is that they are too easily decrewed rather than destroyed

Two real problem really.

- Being decrewed too easily
- 9 out of 10 rounds in the burst will hit the ground in front of the gun instead of ANYWHERE near the target

Lower fuel cost, 20 is a joke compared to 30 fuel bofors (which is fine imo)
Non decrewable because its an emplacement I would like to compare it to a bunker
Only damage and no surpression because it works 360 degrees. If OKW wants surpression, get FLAK HT or wait for balance update with MG.
Also it would be nice if the particles actually hit.

Why?
Its a doctrinal emplacement in the first place.

Just get rid of fuel cost and leave it as it is or meet the offensive power somewhere half-way to bofors, like BB suggested in his thread.

The wehrmacht and OKW need to have tools to make themselves more unique from one another and the new patch is already making them more similar and also it would make the fortifications doctrine less useful. I think what needs to happen is they need to remove the suppression, raise the damage a bit, make the flak cannon undecrewable and then make it cheaper because I would really like to use this unit and I can see it being very useful but hopefully not op.

I hate this emplacement, because when I build one, it gets instand decrewed and ends, that I have to fight against my own emplacement.

Simply add that they cant be decrewed anymore

+1 to this. The solution to problems with a faction shouldn't be "add this" it should be "lets fix this." There are a lot of underpowered and overpowered units in all the factions, tweaking them is a far better way to achieve balance than ignoring them and adding something else.
