OKW mg42 call in.

With the changes to the 34 and the latest patch info for the 27th, I feel like the mg42 call in is sort of redundant. Maybe we can replace this with something else? Thoughts?

Exactly. And you don't have to build the med truck if you want an HMG early on and a fast Luchs/Puma.

I love the change to the MG34 but MG42 call-in seems very redundant and lazy. A new ability or unit would be awesome but highly unlikely. Looking at existing ability's I'd like to see either flames or Goliath added to fort and radio silence, infiltration nades or a recon sweep added to luft.

MG-42? It's going to be kinda "Maxim-DShK" for OKW now. Jeez, OKW turns in USSR more in more. First - no AT-infantry, second - HMG's stuff...

But really, Relic has full of Panzer Elite of units (from vCoH). Almost non of them were used in CoH 2.

Ostheer have Opel Blitz for to increase income from points? Ok, give to OKW Vampyr Halftruck for to STEAL those resourses from enemy, could be pretty useful, tricky and interesting, if made right. Or... give same Blitzes. Since we patching up all weak sides of OKW (by giving HMG for example), why not to patch up thier absence of depots in that way?

as I understand it the 34 will not have anywhere near the DPS of the 42 even after buffs, the current MG34 does less DPS than an Ostruppen and even with buffs its only getting a 1/3rd DPS increase at mid and double the previous DPS at long range.

This was the main problem with the MG34, it never actually killed anything to vet. Now that's being fixed.

The MG42 will be a premium option, and will probably have lulz worthy OP vet4/5.

The only thing I´m a bit worried about is the MG-42 as a call in. As in directly on the field and no built time. I can see this becoming quite annoying and maybe some kind of Maxim spam 2.0. Hope it becomes a passive ability.

That begs the question tho, MG34 or MG42 LMG? And another question, should the Obers be able to upgrade to MG42 LMGs as well then? Hell a guy even suggested they add an LMG upgrade to Falls as well. I still don't see the reason why Wehr aren't the Army with the ealier war equipment than the OKW, sure the MG34 was the earlier MG but the MG42 was a refined design in larger numbers because of it's easier production, maintenance and cost.

Edit: Scratch the larger numbers part, I got confused, but yeah, easier production (cheaper as well) and maintenance. Both MGs were seen until the end of the war but you know... I still think OKW should have the later war equipment while Wehr would be either stuck with the earlier war one or should be able to upgrade to mid war equipment at a cost, for example give Panzergrenadiers passive Panzerbusches 39s which can be switched back to their Stg 44s (which really should be MBK 42s, the earlier variant of the Stg) and then have an upgrade to the double Panzershrecks, and the Grens should have the MG34 as an upgrade instead of MG42, MG34 by default instead of MG42 as a weapon crew, you know, stuff like that but whatever, I'm just a modder, what do I know.

MG42 has better damage and suppression and we are yet to see what it's vet 4 and 5 will give.

Heads up, Relic changed the MG34. It comes from the HQ now when a single truck has been put up, so it'll be available regardless of truck chosen.
