Volks nerf

What kind of nerf do you think volks should be getting? Or do you feel they are fine the way they are? I personally think they scale too well to late game and the fire grenade they get is very effective vs MGs late game since they will have suppression resistance and less received accuracy.

They should never of received incendiary nades to begin with when they can have shreks. Makes them too versatile and promotes blobbing. Okw fans themselves asked for them on sturms not volks. There vet needs looked at on all there units with relic "overhauling" okw and buffing volks a couple patches in a row before fixing the vet.

1. Even Rear Echelons get less received accuracy than Volks :snfPeter:

2. They don't get suppression resistance unless you're talking about green cover :sibHyena:

The beauty of this, is that the racketen gets buffed indirectly, since yolo rushing it with say, light vehicle's is no longer possible due to faust threat.

Volks got a little too good on the AI department. Maybe IF the resource penalty were still around, I'd be OK with that, but now? I'd rather see them a little worse while using rifles

Only if we're talking Vet 0 Volks vs. Vet 0 Cons ( IMO for cost they trade a bit too well when you factor in starting Strumpio vs. Engineer too). Otherwise they are fine and start losing out in the late game when you have Vetted Rifles/Tommys with upgrades. Conscripts with PPSH also eat up Volks pretty bad if you can close distance and Vet 3 Cons are durable enough to hang with Volks.

Other than that its just the usual complaints of Shrek blobbing (and the stupid amount of Exp that Shrek hits give) but that's been beaten to death and then some.

Don't want to see faust added to Volks, makes them too much like all the other infantry.

Remove schreck, add 2x Panzerbusche, buff raketen. Keep the faction unique.

I can get behind Tobis' suggestion. The schrecks are too difficult to handle. On the other hand, removing it completely is upsetting as well. The other suggestion would be to give them 2x STG44 instead.

Panzerbuchse would definitely be a good idea and also fit in.

OKW would probably need another option against lights and Volks are about the only choice for that.

Unless we wanna make Raketen turn and reload super fast so lights will be in abject fear of them...probably shouldn't do that.

Volks are the worst OKW unit period, and making more than 2 or 3 is an epic waste of manpower, as you will be reinforcing them endlessly all game after every engagement. Better to spend the manpower on LeIG, Puppchen, IR HT, literally anything else.

So why do people blob them? Because newbs don't know what they are doing with OKW, and the people who can't beat a Volks blob know even less.

When you just start out playing a faction, you don't know your left hand from your right. As you play, you realize you do pretty well as long as you stick to units that are versatile. After all, no matter what situation you are in they will do OK. Units like this for OKW are Volks, P4, Panther and the like.

As you begin to learn something about the faction over time you begin to realize you cannot win against players better than you with the versatile units. You need an edge, something a little stronger. So you start experimenting with specialist units that are very strong but not versatile. These units will give you the edge you need, but you need experience playing the faction before you will understand when and how to use them. Examples of these units are Obers, JP, Puma, Puppchen, Flak Demag.

So in the beginning newbs will mass versatile units of only a few types, and rely on numbers to win the day. Once an expert they will prefer having a few units of all types and use them in a coordinated way for the things they are specialized for.

If you can't beat massed Volks, which competes for the worst mainline infantry in the game, you got problems.

OKW Shrek blobs massacre armor and inf once they reach vet 4-5, heck they're probably the most potent unit for OKW atm with vet working again, long as you keep them alive. Just ask Senior Cruzz and he'll confirm.

Schecks on volks wouldn't be so bad if they weren't essentially free vet 4 or 5 for 90 muni. Well that and if they weren't so accurate at maximum A-move range. (Essentially a result of said vet.) Panzerschrecks should miss like crazy at max range, vetted or no, but reliably hit at mid to short range.

That alone would put the scheck in a much more defensive posture, which is where it should be.

Change other At weapons, like Raketen needs a change than, remove Shrecks and give them instead G43's so they can deal with other Infantry. -_-
