Hello,
Want to admit that right now guard infantry is one of the most expensive infantry units that USSR can call in 330 mp + 75 ammo. But this unit cant buy back lost wepon especialy PTRS, DP-28 can be bought back only if were droped both of them. With out PTRS this unit losing its role, it cant destroy superstructured points, cant deal damage to light and medium vehicles. Thats just unfair for such expensive unit to relay on random will you lose you gun or not. Give opportunity to buy back PTRS (25 or 30 ammo per PTRS).
(On 43 min of Relic stream https://www.twitch.tv/relicentertainment/v/50013065 it was said that it should be updated.)
May be it will be much better to give 1 dp as upgrade but not 2.
And i want to remind that active ability of DP-28 was greatly nerfed but price is still the same 40 ammo.
Give opportunity to buy lost weapon back it will jystify this unit.
I am asking not for buff but a fix of wrong mehanic that pull down balance.

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

Sorry but random efective is not fine. When i call in falshemjager i know fot what i pay, but when i pay for guards i dont know what ll get after few minutes of game they can lose all their ptrs and fully lose opportunity to deal damage to vehicles. Sorry but random weapon is not fine.

+1 OP, guards should be able to re-purchase their lost PTRS. With regard to pricing I think that cons gets two for 50, so 25 a rifle would be reasonable.

It'd be a good thing to fix/adjust but i think there are more things to fix at the moment. Generally, i don't find ptrs as useful in late game so not many people are complaining.

I find the PTRS either wrecks face or is horrible. Certainly as OST I find that Guards often take down 1 model per volley because of the random PTRS crits on infantry. I had a Grenadier squad go down in 2 volleys of fire once.
Yet when I use Guards I feel like they are insanely overpriced for how they perform...

Axis biased, Allied biased. Play every faction before you scream nerf, be a Coh2 player not an "Axis" or "Allied" player.

I find guards not very reliable and expensive. Also the button ability was overnerfed and flare mines are redundant and not useful, they could be affected by hit the dirt.
Its too crazy to change mines with something similar to british sniper Critical Shot? or real mines?

Guards are fine. I definitely wouldn't mind getting the ability to buy-back weapons or some received accuracy through vet though

I think they are fine. Been able to rebuy weapons would be nice and having a different vet1 ability rather than tripwire would be great.

I agree with the general sentiment here. The unit itself is fine, but you need to be able to buy back dropped weapons. Having a guard squad with 1 DP and 1 PTRS is just horrible. Flanking enemy armor with the guards is not worth it if they just have 1 ptrs.

Be nice to get a fix on this. It obviously isn't an intended "feature" and cannot see how anyone could effectively argue that it should be in the game otherwise add it to all units.

Mind you, the way that actually functions in the game code is highly(overly) complex and convoluted. I can see why anyone at Relic would be loathe to recreate it for PTRS.
But I'd rather have clunky code that functions properly than lack it completely.

Brad said not being able to buy back PTRS rifles is a bug. So I'm sure that will get fixed between now and COH3.

I want to belive that it will be fixed in next patch (where they want to buff penals and nerf maxims) but not by hotfix.

Fix their upgrade bug and reduce their drop rate RNG and they'll be fine.

Its not more expensive. Pgrens rebuy lost shrecks for 60 muni and they always did.
