When playing the Wermacht, how does one eliminate British mortar emplacements?

Sneezing on them, lightly, from afar seems to work.

Shreck blob, ISG, tanks, there isn't much they aren't vulnerable to.

For wermaht the most easy way is to use mortar halftrack from Spearhead.

Hi Grenadier,

welcome! As newvan and australien magic said. You can also try to upgrade your halftrack with flames (120 munition).
If you have more questions about the game etc., there is a special thread with strategist:

Hi there,

I have a few questions about the following:

(When playing as Wermacht)

1) What is MHT?

2) How do I get Luftwaffe incendiary off map?

3) What is OP Aimbot mortar?

4) What are ISG? Not sure what you meant by sneezing on them if you meant that seriously.

Sorry for the questions, new to Wermacht

infantry support gun that OKW (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) gets; the lieg.

1) Mortar Half Track, has some nasty abilities for dealing with the pesky Brits.

2) & 3) Think these might be Ostheer...

4) Infantry Support Gun. Huuuuuge range to attack emplacements with.

5) Sneezing was meant somewhat facetiously. They are unarmoured and have little in the way of HP so die quite readily to any attacker.

1)MHT mortar half truck the 250 vehicle with mortar, it is able to fire incendiary round that can do a allot of damage to emplacement, it available to 2 commanders.

2) That incendiary bombing is available only to Luftwaffe commander at CP 6

3) he is probably referring to g34 mortar but does not want to lose the change of calling it op/call for a nerf at it.

4) ISG is not available to Ostheer, he refers to the OKW unit Le.IG 18 (infantry support gun) the sneezing was not meant to be taken seriously.

Finally I am under the impression that these type of questions should not be addressed in the balance section but in the ask the strategist section...

Please note that all the options mentioned for Wehrmacht are either doctrinal or not even available for that faction. Neither ISG nor Schreckblob are an option for the Wehrmacht. You can try to get mutliple Schrecks up on PGs but doing that early loses you the game.

Before T3 there is no reliable counter. Flamethrowers can work, but the Pioniere are rather fragile and thus not reliable.

Because even then all of this is countered by pressing the "invincible" button.

You are pretty much forced to go mortar HT + incindiary as Wehr.

This is bad design. The effort the German player has to put into destroying emplacements is so high, while the Brit has to push one lousy button. So fuck mortar emplacements. They should be taken out of the game and replaced by an actual mortar.

Why? Was there a hotfix which removes their doctrines? :snfBarton:

I'm still waiting on the hotfix to remove Soviet apparatchik trolls.

The problem with a doctrinal counter is you're forced into selecting and preparing an entire doctrine not just for one unit but one singular ability (incendiary round/bomb) to take down something that can resist other hard counters. It's not just a problem with bofors, it's a problem with the whole faction design of the British, their units are designed to counter their hard counters.

So Ostheer, who have to face off against three factions rather than two, have to prepare a doctrine for bofors, they have to prepare a doctrine for AEC spam, then they have to prepare doctrines for soviet AND USF strategies as well - and we only get three slots. Whereas the Allied players can face off against two armies and the only real surprises in strategy they are likely to encounter are from OKW players as ostheer is pretty linear.

Thats the problem with relying on doctrines. We have three slots for doctrines to fight three armies each with different playstyles versus allied players who have to face two armies with only one faction - OKW - likely to surprise with a novelty strategy that requires doctrinal support.

That's why.

People are refusing to put effort and micro into counternig shit.

Doctrinal option here is the no-brainer for micro-less scrubs.

Its perfectly valid counter, especially for people who are in denial about units like shreck PGs.

So the whole discussion about brits not having a snare was pointless because they can pick up the AT Tommy doc? Or are you beeing hypocrite again?:bananadance:

MHT works, tommy AT nade doesn't, there are plenty of stock options for ost to counter emplacements, there isn't any other way for brits to reliably snare armor, try harder. :snfBarton:

Ostheer light vehicle play is a remarkably bad idea against any faction, and against Brits in particular....sorry man.

Smoke from Mortars + Flamer Half Track attack ground is perfect against emplacements.
