Lay down mines, get zooks or shreks or faust, get paks, use other tanks to hunt them, etc. There's plenty of counterplay.

It can also be hard countered: snares and retreat.
And the best of all- another element of environment usability: find a part of the map with walls and push the enemy all the way to it- then...

It also helps to realize when you are in danger of getting crushed and avoiding those situations (such as when your infantry in bunched against your bas building and a tank YOLOs into it)
