I am glad Relic finally found time to display ranks in the player cards in the lobby and when starting a game.

But why do I see my own rank and not the other people's rank????

My own rank is the rank I pretty much know. I would be interested in seeing the rank of people I play with or play against.
So I now see what I already know, and I do not see, what I would like to know.
This is very very weird.

Does anybody have an explanation for why they implemented this like that?
(sth. better than garden lelic and stuff...)

There were plenty of people dropping, because they have seen stars on opponents playercard before(which were indicator of time played, not skill), which was direct reason why ANY indicators of players rank or time played were scrapped from loading screen.

Imagine what these terrified, sad creatures would do if they could see opponents rank on the loading screen.

There still exists a crapload of people who believe prestige 3=skill.

it shouldnt be visible in the loadingscreen because people would drop then... but imo they should set it to visible for everybody in the after game screen and in custom lobbies/ parties

Another issue is that would be too competitive, and not politically correct. You see we all need to be equal, and no one should be special.

Can't we just reveal the rank of the enemy after the match ended?

You can just goto your playcard, recent matches and check your opponents rank

That is what should be done. This data should be shown automaticly, why would I need to go to my profile for it?

At least let it show your teammate's rank. I don't play with randoms but for those who do I imagine this would be a blessing.

This might not be a bad thing... Occasionally *cough* the match-maker fails, and I think everyone would prefer not to waste time playing these matches.

Conversely, it will save people from dropping when they see all 3-stars, if it reveals that the skill ranks are roughly equal.

Haha true.

Lots of time with the game does correlate with skill though.

Also true. And that's even worse.
