Yes, they are different units, but they depict the SS-units in Eastern Front, and the Obersoldaten in Western Front. At least their uniforms tells us this.

Oh, you meant just the models. Then yeah, Panzergrenadiers and Obersoldaten are Waffen-SS. I don't remember what Stormtroopers and Jäger's look. Obers are also called "waffen" in the game's files, a bit less subtle than before.

Stormptroopers need to be given ober kar98s over gren ones.

I'd like this actually, and the Panzergrenadier G43. Then they're actually somewhat unique instead of just a modestly more durable Gren that can upgrade to Panzergren. I think the G43 needs something to go with it though to make it more appealing, even if the package just gives 4 of them instead of the usual 2. It's still competing with Panzergrenadier package after all.

Wait wait wait. Are the PzGren G43's better than the Gren ones and thus a sidegrade to the PzGrens? I thought they were effectively a downgrade.

Not really a downgrade from what i remember. It does modify the dps on mid/short range (by adding more on short and less on mid) but it is not a role-changer nor than a strict upgrade. Far from beeing impressive for the cost. Better leave them untouched if you intend to use them as a counterattack unit.

I'm pretty sure that it is possible to upgrade stg44 or screks and gews43 after it but I don't know how double gew works with tactical advance.

It doesn't, because you're not getting it.

You're getting interrogation.

You'd have to be an utter idiot to go for G43s on storms, unless you wanted overpriced grens with camo.

Why must g43s be so terrible? Increase cost or something. But they should have some use on stormtroopers and pgrens. They've been worthless since the games release.

Role overlap.

StGs are mid short range weapons with some long range damage.
G43 are mid short range weapons with ok long range damage.

G43s are really cheap, but there is not much of a reason to get them on PGs or storms, especially on storms, because of their camo and ability.

That was really unexpected.
I still don't see any reason why anyone would go for it with StGs and their amazing ability.


Got the same thought. The STG44s are way better and give you some slapping power. Only problem 100 ammo Kappa

Kar 98 only beat G43´s at long range, but with G43´s you can beat back concripts from close range, not sure about Riflemen...but yeah the STG 44 upgrade is still the best weapon you can have in their hands
