Why not have KV-1 tier 4 (instead of the suggested T-34/85)? And T-34/76 to be tier 3?

I would rather make existing unit in the tech tree usable before adding more units in.
Penals and t34 76 are the last two weak link in the soviet tech tree and both units just need to be stronger.
US flame rifleman have already shown how powerful the combo can be.
Buffing the t34 76 would have the same end result as moving the t34 85 into the tech tree.

I agree that buffing the T-34/76 would have the same result as moving the T-34/85 into the tech tree, which I don't favor. Therefore I think if they make T-34/76 tier 3 and make it cheap, then people would use that tank more often. But I think KV-1 in tier 4 would be nice.

I read from The Illustrated Directory of Tanks of the World from World War 1 to the Present Day: "At the outbreak of World War II, the Russian Army was practically the only armed force in the world to be equipped with production heavy tanks. The first of these, the KV-1 (Klim Voroshilov) was designed by a group of engineers at the Kirov Factory in Leningrad, under the direction of Kh. Kotin."

Buffing T34/76 is pointless. It should be shit and cheap tank. T34/85 is the better one, so there is no point of buffing 76 is thefe is 85.
Point is, for all it shitnest, it comes too late, when there are already tons of AT options on the field.
What's more, you dont tech to T4 for T34/76. You do it for Katy or SU85.
T34/85 would fit perfectly into T4.
Late-game medium tank, not bad TD and powerful arty.
T34/76 should remain crap, cheap and spamable.
We dont need it stronger (you have strogner options like M4C, T34/85 or KV) we need it cheap and shit but locking it behind T4 is a misunderstanding.

This is the historical definition of T-34/76.

And it should remain like that.
There are many tanks which outperform T34 so we dont need it to be better (just use those better tanks if you want it better).

KV-1 was used until 1943, later KV-1S and KV-85 until 1944. (A small amount of the KV-1S and KV-85 continued to be used in 1945). not a doctrine t-34-85 sounds better, KV-1 bad it needs some love.

The Finns destroyed some of these KV-1 in the summer 1944.
KV-1 is bad and it can be so. Therefore it could be placed in tier 4 without problems for the balance of the game, and for historical reasons. KV-1 should be the big and not so good heavy tank, which absorbs damage. The Sovjets have better tanks.

Finnish front was positional, so there remains a lot of pre-war / early stuff: PPD-40, early KV, BT tanks and more

That maybe in Winter War 1939-1940, but the summer 1944 was very different. Read about it here. In the summer 1944 the Sovjets used T-34/85s, KV-1s, IS-2s and ISU-152s. That is the best they got.

IS-2, Pershing, Tiger should be non doctrinal since they are all limited to 1.
More units, more fun.

Yes, I think the Sovjets used all the equipment they got. Both the old and the best ones.
This is also an argument for that Relic should not make T-34/76 upgradable to T-34/85, because the Russians didn't upgrade but instead build new tanks.

aye for T-34/85 as non-doctrinal for 1000 years......... it deserves to be non-doctrinal tank, consider how iconic the T-34/85 during ww2
T-34/76 as double/single emergency call-in
