Older Coh1 maps not loading in CoH2 WB

Hello All,

After doing bunch of research last night I found that there is a problem with older CoH maps opening in Coh2 World builder. Most maps before patch 2.51 (made 2010 and before) in CoH1 are not supported in CoH2 world builder. Does anyone have a work around for this or been able to open old CoH1 maps from say 2007ish? I can open them fine in Coh1 World builder. Will be troubleshooting some more later tonight to see if I can get a working transfer. I will also post my warning log to see if anyone can see something that I haven't when I get home from work. If I solve this I will let you all know. Appreciate any help on this subject.

Update: Solution

So I found a work around to get older CoH1 maps (pre 2009 which is not supported with coh2 WB) to load in CoH2 World builder.

This is how you do it.

1. Open the map in CoH1 WB (New Steam version) and save the file.
2. Grab the all files including the tgas from your Coh1 directory and copy all the files to your CoH2 Directory (companyofheroes2/mods/data/scenarios/mapname)
3. Open in Coh2 WB and start remapping to make it work for CoH2

Pretty easy right?? By saving the file with CoH1 WB it allows you to update the file to version which is supported by CoH2 WB and will open. Took a while to figure out the correct procedure though. Hope this helps anyone get there older maps converted to CoH2.

Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
