Jacksons with more than 60 + range + self sight , ouch. The commander is going to have alot of lategame power.


Overall i can't believe some people think the pershing will be bad. The pershing is suprisingly perfectly balanced and its stats are just right. They fit in the american design of fragile, mobile and hard hitting very well.


That's more an issue with the combined arms ability. Unless it's a passive ability (which would be OP) i don't think it should be balance around it. Knowing this, i don't think messing with range is a good idea. Sight and RoF, sure.
This design of the units is fine if you combine it with this and that doesn't work. See Valentine and Sexton, post nerf Osstruppen and Artillery officer, FHQ and 45mm AT gun, etc.

The ability isn't really relevant in any way.

Shocks can be boosted by FTM and they aren't weaker in this particular doctrine.

Tiger can have SCAS protecting it and it doesn't mean it have reduced armor or penetration.

Overpriced in relation to comet and panther?

So far no SMG in the game actually takes up a weapon slot, so I assume the thompsons will continue this trend.

Oh great self spotting tanks that get increased range. What can go wrong?? Hurr might as well retreat everything to base. No way in hell would it be possible to fight jacksons and buffed up rangers. Without multiple mgs and paks in front of your tanks.

Ability basically removes all your offensive power/ability to hold ground and gives it to the US player. Because you basically turn all your units into an EXP pinata. Where you'll keep getting shot and penned from ranges you can't engage from with any unit.

If tanks are going to get decreased reload and self spot and affect infantry? Remove increased range, sounds retarded.

Just because wikipedia states that the pershing had a very slow off-road speed doesn't mean it's true.

The reason why wikipedia gives just a poor off road mobility is because not all off road terrain is equal.


If you look at this video this gives a much clearer picture of how tanks actually performed off-road in ww2. (It's not very fast)

That Pershing had, very low mobility offroad, if compared to other tanks. It had only 3 forward / 1 reverse gear's and that is huge drawback to drive fast or even manoeuvre off road, and it was little to heavy for it's engine. Also, you needed very strong driver to drive this tank because the lever was very hard to "pull" like in most tanks that were mass produced by USSR and USA.

the slot will allow them to pick one additonal bazooka, or bar, or flamer etc after you get the thompson upgrade.

and yes decrease.

the 5th guy can take a weapon rack or dropped weapon instead of a carbine

so your choices are
5 carbines(base)

1x carbine 4x thompson
1 slot weapon and 4 thompsons

2+ slot weapons and no thompson

is what im comprehending here

Every faction has their own economy. Ost spends a lot of fuel teching, OKW gets less income. In this case, nothing stopping from Americans for skipping the major and just pumping out Pershings.

Units have a vision range of 35 so slightly less than a unit can see.

And units are priced accordingly to their performance, nothing more. If it was like you say, axis ostwinds or panthers would be priced differently depending on army. They are not.

If the thing costs as much as IS-2 and Tiger while not having nearly as much survivability, it better be a grim reaper tank for that kind of cost.

I think 3x BARs would be a better squad. What a shame they fixed the automatic-sherman bug before combined arms would have allowed us to get extended range and sight on tanks :)

Your explanation only describes 2 slots with thompsons taking up one,.

Hes saying the thompson upgrade represents 2 slots,but rangers have a 3rd so they can still equip 1 more weapon with the 4 thompsons they get. One guy does not get a thompson when you upgrade the squad,thats the guy you can give a weapon to..

If you dont equip thompsons at all,you can have 3 weapons total. If you have 2 weaposn already for whatever reason,you cant upgrade to thompsons anymore

Hes specifically saying that when you upgrade to thompsons you still have 1 more slot left. As in thompsons are worth 2 slots. thats literally what he said.
