The Centaur should have to do what the Ostwind has to do to kill AT guns- get behind them and fire into the exposed crew.

Any medium tank that can park in front of an AT gun and decrew it sometimes without the gun firing a single shot is broken.

the only problem is that centaur wipes to quickly. Ostwind costs almost same and is not even close

I try not to complain until I really notice something off. The bofors for example. But the Centaur just insta gibs anything in it's path. My AT guns get in one shot before it's wiped out. Infantry in buildings have a bout 3-5 seconds to escape before they're murdered. Retreating infantry don't have a chance. Even PIVs get penetrated by its gun.

The Ostwind is no where near as good. The Luch obviously is much cheaper but even two luch's can't destroy infantry as fast as one Centaur. The DPS and accuracy is just insane.

Its OP for cost and performance. Really hurts Ost as they don't have anything short of T3 which can stand up to it

Considering Aimstrong is using Centaur spam for a one-way ticket to being the champion of OCF, wrecking top players with no variation in his strat except "rush centaur" ...Yeah. Nerf it hard.

Even ignoring how it instantly kills any garrisoned unit, it is over performing. It should not be wiping AT guns from the front so quickly at the very least.

Having watched a few streams vs him, people only seem to build a Pak when the Centaur comes out, not preparing for it. Its pretty clear he will build it. Also some cleverly placed tellers with a bait might be possible. A JP4 built in time will also kill it pretty easily.

I'm not saying that it doesn't need adjusting but people cant expect to counter it without bothering to prepare for its arrival.

In his game 2 vs. KoreanArmy, he not only lost his first centaur seconds after it arrives, but his second one in a similarly quick amount of time, yet for those few minutes they were on the map, they wiped so much infantry that it was unrecoverable. KA lost the game even though he dealt with those two Centaurs beautifully.

His opponents know how to deal with it. It deals too much irreversible damage, whether it's on the field for 10 minutes or 10 seconds.

Don't know what you're talking about. He only lost the first one, he lost a Cromwell as well. His second and third ones survived till the end. That combined with the 4 AT guns he accumulated were enough to seal the win.

iirc centaur is 110 or 120 fuel so more expensive then the ostwind and better.


its 100 fuel. and 40mp more than the ostwind... Yet has 5x the performance.


Centaur needs a nerf rather badly. also a fix vs damage against garrisoned units (its like the bofors was currently).

To this day I still come to this topic and feel famous, and laugh at how many still don't know how to counter a super slow tank and crying on how it is better than a Ostwind. Well you are almost right, it is, but unlikely many of you say, it cannot penetrate a P IV or a Ostwind frontally, which means one of those two screws it up pretty easily, also remember that you might want to adjust our gameplay options if you are afraid of an early game Centaur, because as an axis player you might want to bring some early game map control in the table and get a relatively early game Panzer IV to counter it and chase it off the map, most Brits won't even take an AT Gun if you don't take a 222 out and a Sniper isn't just gonna do anything to a PIV while you have a good laugh at the Centaur trying to escape, because yeah, it has no mobility at all, it gets out ranged by everything and 2 Paks are enough at range if you have vision.

So the conclusion is pretty easy, quit crying and start your brain up, try to pull out some tactics instead of raging in Game chat and yelling relic and you furiously throw your monitor out the nearest window or attempt to shoot it with a Kar 98 or some other bullshit you find around by digging a hole in Europe. Sometimes being dynamic allows you to win, hell if someone can win games just by spamming the hell out the fucking Osttruppen force, you can think of something to beat a Centaur, unless you did everything in your power to fuck up your game. Then you can start crying, but at yourselves.


Edit: Oh yeah, Axis gets access to armour earlier than Brits, so it's even x2 your fault if you can't even deal with that.

Centaur is fine but a Centaur supported by two 6 Pounder AT Guns is broken.


it's the only way to deal with okw blobs supported by armor ... since emplacements are useless now

Centaur needs its damage toned down and its instant clearing ability fixed. Very few, if any vehicles for their timing and cost in the mid-game can clear ATGs before they get their second or third shot in when attacking frontally.

Or it needs to be revamped where its damage is much less but it deals suppression like the AAHTs (Quad, M15 AAHT, 251 Flak Track) rather than being an Ostwind on steroids.

Definitely needs a little nerf. Then cost would be in line with performance. It definitely puts Ostwind to shame both in lethality and survivability. Only area it is inferior is speed. It's DPS just has to be toned down.

30 + 115 - (20) = 125 in tech. (They start with 20?)
100 for the Centaur / 110 for Cromwell
15/15/25 Upgrades (Nade/Rack/Bolster)

OH:
170f in tech (accounting for initial fuel)

From 80-85% to 35-40%. Frontal shots mostly (some Rear due to how side armor works)

it comes up.. shoots.. instakills the pak40 and mops up everything else

Even if they want to keep the anti inf performance as it is, atleast give it some damage reduction vs paks.
