I liked the T34/76 a lot more when it was 8 pop in the balance mod. At 10 pop it's a bit harder to justify the cost/performance per pop ratio. Perhaps the T34/76 needs a bit of a cost/performance increase to justify the increase in pop.

They need to reduce the manpower cost. Also give it some sort of non-ramming ability.

8 was a bit low, when you consider that a it had the same pop cap as a Panzergrenadier squad.

Honestly, the only reason to build a T34/76 at this point is for late game ramming on super-heavies like the King Tiger and Jagdtiger. The SU76 and SU85 are significantly better for anti-armor while the M5 Quad and T70 are more effective dedicated anti-infantry punch. The T34/76 is mediocre at both, unless you consider its crushing power, which is so-so at best, given how little health the unit has.

I guess in that sense, building a pack of 3 T34/76s that you're going to go hyper-aggressive with on crushing and ramming can be effective, but it's such a gamble at that point, I feel like you're better off saving the fuel for something more specialized and worthwhile.

It's a "jack of all trades" unit by design and a "I suck at literally everything" (given its timing) unit in execution.

I actually miss pushing a fast T3 to get a T34/76 out. There usually wasn't a fuck ton of AT on the field and it gave you time to pick up some veterancy with it so it could actually be effective - at vet 3, its mobility and rate of fire are pretty spectacular.

Now with its low cost and very, very late timing for its performance, it's basically a "why the fuck not" unit. No one is ever going to build a T34/76 when they're back-against-the-wall on the brink of losing. They should've buffed the T34's performance and increased the cost rather than keep it where it was (where it was arguably already underperforming) and simply nerfing the cost. I'd rather have a unit that could actually fucking PERFORM for 120 fuel or so.

RIP T34/76.

at the moment i see no legitimate reason to ever build a t34/76 since
every other tank you build is more cost effective and better, like su 76 or 85
just get the doctrinal tanks, theyre all better than a t34/76
i dont even consider it a tank, it will lose to any tank 1v1 and even light vehicles too like the puma
a single shrek squad is a extremely lethal to a t34/76, its always gotta be babysat by infantry support, so i consider it a infantry support vehicle
it has piss poor accuracy, low damage, low health, low penetration and its too expensive for how little it does

su 76 is even worse than t3476. No point of using them both

The Stug is also 8 pop, costs 10 fuel more than the T34/76, and the case could be made that it performs its role far better T34/76 currently does.

The reason 8 pop seems appropriate for the T34/76's current performance is that it results in a ratio of 3 T34/76s (24 pop total @ 8 pop) to every 2 P4s (24 pop total @ 12 pop). This also works out price wise (900MP/240FU for the T34s and 700MP/250FU for the P4s) and combat wise since 3 T34/76s are about what you need to take on 2 P4s. If you bump the pop to 10 then you have the same ratios but the Wher player has an extra 6 pop to spare for what is essentially an equal combat force.

The SU76 is actually good though. It has great pen, barrage is useful in a pinch, and it cost less than the T34/76. It is a better unit. There's no point in using them both because there's no point in using the T34/76 at all because the SU76 actually, y'know, does stuff.

It's basically a weaker pre-buff sherman that doesnt have he shells for insta-wipes.

Sometimes I buy a t-34/76 in a blow out game so I can stare at it, I like how it looks. Yeah that's about it though.

It can do wonders in big packs of 6-7. It really relies on pushing an enemy off the field and chasing him to his base, then crushing as many of his squads as possible before pulling away with as many as you can. You really do rely on having mobs of them.

It's still strong with Industry, but they really need to lower the Manpower from 300. I'd hoped for an 8 pop cap T34 for ages but they reverted it before I even got to try it.

It's not really good at killing infantry. It's shit vs tanks. Ram usually does nothing except destroy itself. It's too expensive at 300 manpower. It's armor is crap, so panzerschrecks always penetrate. I suppose the only thing its good at is crushing and as a shield for SU-76s.

EDIT: I tried them out in a 2v2 today, and I had 2 T-34/76s destroy a Tiger. Not so crappy, but they could use a little buff.

yeah 300 manpower is kinda expensive for what it does. 280 would be a good number

In 4v4's I just tend to pump them out late game and use 2 or 3 to ram a tank (only use more rams when needed) IF you can immobolize / cripple an axis tank , you can leave the big boys (aka the Brits) to finish it off.

As a tank on its own its fairly useless as it has penetration problems vs most axis tanks and isnt that great vs infantry.

because a t34 can harass points. su76 doesnt do a very good job at doing that. besides its barrage wch can be dodged

There's a couple of specific situations where an individual T34 76 is useful; say the wounded and crippled Elefant is slowly making its way to the rear behind a Pak wall and you can't send your IS2 or SU76 horde to go chase it down.

Get a T3476. They build insanely fast, they're a cheap throwaway unit that can run in, pen the Elefants rear armor, and survive long enough to find the thing and kill it.
