Here you can see massive FPS gains in a strategy game(Thats CPU intensive), maybe this would greatly benefit COH 2 FPS.

Question is... Shall Relic make dx12 available for coh 2?

I don't think that DX12 could solve the problems with the sucky FPS.
The main problem is that CoH2 is programmed very poorly. It could have way better FPS even without DX12 if it wasn't implemented the way it is.

I have a GTX970 and a brand new i5 and still I lag after a US phosphor barrage.

And in addition vCoH implemented DX10 with a major update (OF) that brought many new effects.

Not yet. Kinda normal when it has just been released :)

OT: I think so, they announced a new way of animation so I hope it has something to do with that.
Anyway, the GPU's need to be able to support is first of cours.

Unfortunately I am not...

My PC can handle the game very well but somehow it goes down in massive fire and smoke.
I can play GTA V in maxed out settings with full AA and so on so it seems as my point is correct that CoH2 is simply coded pretty poorly :/

frankly i don't really care whether or not they update the engine (they won't, it's a shit ton of work), as i won't be getting win10 for a while, but i wouldn't say no to it. i'm sure relic's next game will be dx11/12 based.

i don't think we'll get straight 12 games for at least another 2 years, just because the market is too small until win10 get's some saturation.

Horrible optimization. Aka no optimization. Relic need to optimize the game, not make it work properly only on Top high-end computers. WTF, we are home users not NASA.

Relic has a very shit way of creating particals. So usually fire/smoke/effects will cause most pcs to limp I believe.

I wouldn't mind, but there are a lot of performance issues (duh!), most notably UI. You can't even open the freaking tactical map without game freezing for a couple of seconds.

dx12? ain't one forcing himself to use a botnet operating system. with linux and macos versions in days, opengl and vulkan will be the way to go.

Newest I5 (6600k) and GTX 970 Gaming right here, and indeed. Still a bit of lag with that.
Absurd.

DX10 was supposed to bring better performance and we all know how the DX10 patch was for COH1.

I have a 4770k i7 Ivy and a GTX 680 and run the game on max, averaging 45 fps. sometimes it slows down but not too bad. I'm also using a 480GB SSHD.

But my game was running like ass for a while, so I did a fresh format and that seemed to help a ton.

you merely adopted to low fps. I was born in it, molded by it. I didnot see the 30 fps number on my monitor until i was already a man.

all particles are expensive (shit ton of 2 tri/1 poly squares suddenly everywhere) and coh2 isn't really optimized.
