We don't want to go back to Volk Ober blobs please. Obers alone nullified MGs which were hard countered against infantry and blobs. Obers STILL retain their ridiculous vet bonuses not to mention the fact they are phenomenal against infantry.

If you played OKW you would know a couple of things;
-Obers lack utility compared to the rest of OKW's infantry options (the best thing on them is the booby trap point)
-This lack of utility means they have to be very good at their 1 roll
-They are just good at their 1 roll
-When it comes to specialist units being only "good" at the 1 roll they can preform is a death sentence because the theory behind specialist units is that they are useless for anything else which justifies them being excellent in their 1 roll
-OKW has a lot more AI options than previously
-Thus the reasons for making Obers is few and far between.
They have what I like to call "The Curse of Mediocrity" they occupy that space between "excellent" and "bad" units were you don't often see them because people will ALWAYS want to make the best unit they have available to them which most of the time isn't Obers.

Well,the obersoldaten are severely underperforming for their,and are rarely seen in matches post patch,i think un-nerf to their lmg and stg44 back to 8 from 6 is justified...they weren't that much of issue pre-nerf.we also know commandos are coming.

What about your opinion since you only play with them and never against them with USF, your opinion is as relevant as mine. You probably know how you are using them but I know better how the majority of 1vs1 OKW players are using them since I'm facing them in 1vs1. And it is not amazing.
Saturday I face a player from this forum in 1vs1 who was using them as a kind of main line infantry after some time, no cover usage, a-move, no insta-retreat when facing armor and not supported by ATstuff.
People are also complaining about Scott insta-wiping the squad which is 99% bullshit, many many times, the Scott fire 2 or 3 times before touching a squad moving, and sometime the 4th shot is a headshot, but the Scott shot 2-3 times before. Which means 2-3 warnings not taken in account. Many people are counting on their luck, it miss 1, it missed 2, miss 3, and it gonna probably miss again and again until it doesn't miss and wipe. If people were retreating in time vs a scott, or going cover, they would not suffer those wipes.

I don't find them UP.
Whenever I pick them it's damn easy to get 30-80kills.
Shocks/Guards are nowhere close to such ease with killing infantry.
Once vet 2/3 they are unstoppable.
Old meta of Volks and then double Obers killing everything was truly broken. We dont want to see that again.
If game is in my favour and I don't need extra push with call-in infantry, I always go for Obers.
I cannot remember single game with Shocks/Guards/Rifles with 90kills, but I remember at few where Obers got over 80 kills.

Obers have the best vet in this game. End of story
vet 4 passive suppression, and vet 5 sprint is just too good to have thier price lowered. In addition their received accuracy bonuses are on par with shock troop armor.

No cover vs no cover guards would still probably win with PTRS snipes even after the nerf.
Their vet bonuses are all good ect but when a scott/sherman rolls up and 1 shots them or the alpha strike on a katyusha barrage, their vet doesnt do them much good there and is just a huge MP bleed.

Man, you are so far from truth that I can't even begin to tell you. I don't understand you though. If you own WFA why don't you play the okw faction? You payed for it, if anything. I don't really like soviets but I payed for the faction therefore I played them when I didn't like them. After latest game changes I like every single faction, it feels fun playing them all including your beloved USF which is quite challenging and interesting to play.

Guards dont win unless in green cover and vetted. Obers win in every other situation. Period.
If a vehicle kills your obers. Oh well, it happens. Squad wipes are not exclusive to obers, so stop pretending that they are. Also, OKW is the easiest faction to float mp with.
