And now with starting MP of 420, MG-42 will be the first unit to be trained while T1 is being built. Pio + MG-42 + Gren opening. Suppress and cause retreat of first squad of Con/Rifle it encounters and you have a nice head start.

Early fuel lockdown easily possible. Allies will have to be cautious where they run and cap in the first couple of minutes. Maybe even bypass certain areas to try to flank. But if the Axis player puts the MG-42 in a building, you're out of luck.

Correct me if I am wrong: T3 costs 120 fuel currently and not 60.

IIRC fixed artillery were generally used to bombard retreat points, so the number of shells fired was halved to make this less irritating. To compensate for the loss in performance the barrage timer was reduced.

Now they are restored to former glory but with the faster timer still in place.

It now has the same nearby suppression multiplier as the MG42.

But not the same suppression AoE. So it's still not really clear how good it will be now. Might actually suppress 2 squads holding hands now without having to switch targets manually, but I doubt it will do anything more than that since it just does not have the AoE.

Some people are really, really over reacting from the changes.

Stop looking at single buffs/nerfs and look at the factions OVERALL.

Every faction now has delayed medium/heavy tanks, with things like t70s and stuarts coming out relatively earlier and having more time to be the kings instead of the mere minutes they get in the current live patch. People complained about the LeiG and Pak howtizer costing too much, now youll see more of them. The howitzers will also see lots of use now.

But hey, some things might be OP. After a single game (and obviously I cant make a decision after one game) most of you saw how effective the new arty pieces were. Are they OP? Maybe, but the whole point of having the preview is that you can give feedback after playing and hopefully rectify some changes.

The MG42 had a suppression radius of 10 until the very last patch, now the maxim (suppression wise) will be the MG42 before the latest patch. So yes it will do AoE suppression now. The maxim technically always did AoE suppression, it just did extremely little now it will do AoE suppression like all the other machine guns in the game do.

The nearby multiplier is what gives machine guns AoE suppression, that and suppression radius.
