"Correct in that the King Tiger isnt included because its not a commander unit. Doesnt mean they wont be in the future. We really wanted to change the Heavy Tank call in meta first and see if KT is somethign we need to look at later." - JLee from Relic

The optics of this decision will be resounding. Wow.

The 120mm mortar retains it's superior AoE profile when compared to the 82mm so it will still be more effective at wiping squads. It will just be less likely to do so now after the patch thanks to the damage reduction.

Keep telling us how shit the patch is when you've never even played it. LOL

Lets use our brains for a sec. This patch only minimally addresses the problems of current 1v1 play. For example, it does not address using call ins for Soviets or their overwhelming superiority in current 1v1 play. That is, it in no way will remove Guard Motor from everyones command pick. If anything it strengthens that choice even more. -20

It gets some pluses here and there. +3

All said in done - this is a sorry ass patch bro.

Nice way to tell axis players to go fuck themselves...

PTRS no change = more guards more Tank Hunter.
120 AoE no change + only damage reduction = still bleeds the fuck out of you, only less instant wiping.
Mark Target Unchanged
Finally, lets call in some T34/85, Fuck Yay. still 10 CP, still unlimited.

Brianless stuff.Limit heavies to 1,but easy 8 and t-34/85 call-ins stay the same. Now every one of them goes for those instead of is-2.

Didn't fix wehrmacht teching which means patch means nothing to us.

There were some great changes but without these fundamental issues its irrelevant.
I guess gurad motor ftw continues. No point playing this.

guards are slightly worse

What are you smoking? The buffed guards by making them not drop their weapons every 5 seconds.

Much butthurt form axis players it seems. Makes for a good laugh :)

There wasn't a single Axis nerf other than the Tiger I being limited to 1 so.......

Guard motor was hardly nerfed. Sure the 120mm lost damage but that is not why anyone goes guard motor. Even with the nerf it still retains better squad wipe potential than the 82mm and now is cheaper to field. Beyond that guards will drop their weapons a lot less often and all of the T34/85 CP requirements remain unchanged while Guard motor's main competitor, Shock Rifle, is limited to a single IS2 on the field at any one time.

Lets not forget also that changes to AT nades and Pfausts mean that T34/85s are going to be A LOT more mobile on the flank compared to before.

Jesus reading this thread has been painful. Y'all whine when balance changes inevitably go too far too fast and wind up ruining the balance, drastically overnerfing or overbuffing units etc. Now you complain when they roll out the changes in phases so that we don't have 200 different moving parts to try and balance simultaneously.

It's not going to be six months to the next patch. Calm your tits, people.

Don't forget about mark vehicle! But yeah I don't see really any reason for Soviet players do go anything outside of Guard Motor.

Guard motor remains OP,especially since OKW and Ost can't compete in call-in terms.T-34/85 now the standard soviet go to.As if it wasn't bad enough.

Yep, love this game, but it is almost time to play something else. Cant imagine a serious soviet player not only using Guard Motor now.

I'm very disappointed in the situation because the fix was essentially there in NDA land and this is what we get instead.
