I will agree its mobility is painful. But the thing can't be the perfect armor killing machine for only 125 fuel.

Only problem with it is its manoeuvrability now that turbobiltz rocket packs have been re-introduced. And mildly nerfed to only superblitz, oh no.
Its turn speed and ground resistance are just the worst.

Also going T4 in 1v1 is hard, cause it lacks reliable infantry counter and lategame harassment unit (t34 and t70).

Its not used very often and I think that is due to a problem with the unit itself . If it had a more solid role as a tank destroyer like jackson or m10 could be considered by more players, i think

Permanently BannedSU-85 is great as it is, particularly once it hits vet 3. I remember a game I played where I (haphazardly) bltiz'd a panther straight into a vet2 one on Rails around the big house corner, and as it turned to pursue/fire as I reversed, it pretty much fired 1 shell per second, each that hit, which all except the last one fired as I moved out of range, penetrated. Dat RNG reload speed.

Yeah, I forgot about JP4 but that's only because it suffers from same thing all AT has vs it, it's very small target size. New PTRS meta solves that though OpieOP

Pros:
1) Forces enemy medium armor to pull back if used with spotters at proper range.
2) Unloads tonns of DPS against less mobile heavies.
3) In the same tier as Katys.
Cons:
1) Dies to Pz.IV if unsupported, or AT nade failed to penetrate frontal armor.
2) Have 0 AI capabilities so it suffers from handheld AT.
3) Leads to passive/reactive play
4) Comes quite late, so you can't rely on it to counter light vehicles
So, it is a good specialist unit that requires support to fulfill its task (combined arms approach) with low shock value (pure AT) and good late game potential (great veterancy bonuses).

any of the proposed changes revert the su85 closer to that state. i don't think anyone wants that.
