Probably the fact that the SU-76 is an utter joke right now. But I don't think giving it HE shells is a solution that makes any sense, since that'd imply that the current shells are AP, and I have not often seen that thing penetrating armor.

its ok vs okw it helps destroying trucks but other then this its only good against mg positiones! it needs some love from relic

Would prefer a lower cooldown for the barrage which is basically the HE mode.

barrage can only..... barrage a specific point. Think HE shells would be interesting worth trying if a modder was willing to test it.

You should see how useful it is with halved barrage reload time first.

no, make it a zis on treads and leave the barrage in. giving it HE shells would probably be op, although the main shells would never get used because their pen right now is about the same as a HE shell.

It should be ZiS on wheels with ZiS' penetration and free barrage (just increase penetration and SU is ready) or make it AI vehicle with better AoE (something worse than Scott but still useful).

exactly. increase the pen, probably increase the cost by 10 fuel or so, and call it good.

I'd rather see longer range (perhaps causing the accuracy of the barrage to scale- like the katusha). If it could barrage from further then I think I'd actually be able to incoporate it in to my playstyle. Having to get near point blank and completely expose such a soft unit is just too difficult for me. and the micro attention that is required to pull off a barrage and get away just isnt worth the damage it does. (thoguh once vetted up it does quite well).

It just needs a little more barrage range to help survivability IMO.

Meh, the problem with the SU-76 is that it performs about as well as a slightly beefed up 222 with no turret, except it comes out at the time when the enemy has Panzer IVs. It might be a decent unit if it came in the special rifle command after paying a small sub-tier fee to unlock it (think Panzer Elite buildings from CoH 1). As it stands, there's basically zero reason to ever spend 70 fuel on it when you could just get an SU-85 instead. Even two SU-76s cost more than one SU-85, and I'd rather have the latter.
