New USF Marine commander?

Anyone else think a US marine commander would be cool?

This might be a game changer, but I think a passive ability for them could be that infantry would be able to swim. To balance this swimming infantry would be helpless and unable to return fire while swimming. Additionally If an infantry soldier carrying special weapons such as bar or bazooka is even shot at while in water there is a slight chance of them dropping it in the river in order to swim faster.

Might as well have a DD upgrade for shermans just so they can cross puny rivers and lakes. :P

Well, that seems cool but if you are suggesting a commander, get more creative. List more abilities, like calling in amphibious vehicles, naval arty etc.

By the way, remember that commander should not be "game changer".

No offense dude but swimming...? Do you mostly play bridge maps where this could even possibly be a thing? Road to Kharkov... New commander ability, troops get R&R in the lake.. 3cps... Worth.

Troops shot with a special wep in the water would have a chance to drop the weapon into the river? Might aswell not even introduce this commanders, as its completely pointless. Also, most maps dont even have water.

Interesting idea, but as far as I can tell rivers are just impass. Just like trees and buildings and steep hills. If you can ignore river impass, it'd probably ignore the others too and just phase through everything.

There are actually different kinds of impass, so it is do-able to a degree. But I doubt it will get implemented so talking about it is like asking for a perfect game.

We don't need anymore elite US infantry. Americans already have Paratroopers with LMG's that outclass any other unit; adding US Marines would give them two elite anti-infantry units and as a result the balance will be distorted.

maybe you could make it work by making tanks that dont get bogged down by water/heavy snow/ mud/ or ice or something along those lines. giving rifle men a thompson upgrade as a 2-3 cp kinda thing would also be cool.
add offshore arty kinda like the railway arty but have it come in kinda small clump but make it take a while to get there.
