Partial Fix - Basebuildings in Fog of War

THIS IS JUST A PARTIAL FIX

Lots of people misunderstand this with a complete fix. I just removed the stamp that you see through fog of war. And did set the HQ building ghost enable to true.

Because the stamp is removed the borders look more ugly but I prefer gameplay over graphics.

Note: MG bunkers are not visible either.

They are "working on" or "looking into" everything, but when will the actual fixes happen?

Good stuff though for finding a fix for it Stafkeh, keep it up!

according to the stream its a very hard bug to fix however if you can fix it using their own mod tools alone there will be much egg on faces.

Good work. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to fix it?

Ipkai, I really hope they didn't say that. Else I lose my trust in that company completely...
It took me 15 minuts to locate the problem, maybe 2 minuts to solve the problem for Soviet and German base buildings.

Indeed, with their tools they can probaly fix it so the stamp isn't shown in fog of war.

Are the positions of base buildings always visible once they've been revealed once? For instance, if you reveal a building and then walk away, is that building still visible in the fog like it should be or does it disappear like units disappear when they're in fog?

They (Peter specifically) said it on stream last week.

Positions of buildings and what building it is due to the shape can be seen through fog as soon as they are built. You don't have to scout bases currently to know what opponents are building.

Right, I mean with this mod, once you reveal a building once it should be revealed for good, you should always see the model but shouldn't see the health bar. Just wanted to make sure that was maintained in this mod.

The HQ footprint should probably go as well. That way in mixed team games players can't determine what faction they are paired up against at the start.

Wouldn't be a bad idea if the HQ is shown to :p

Awesome. I'm guessing you just removed the underground model footprints from each building?

Yes, it makes the buildings less detailed, but thats not a really big problem I guess..
I tried looking for the stamps in the Mod Builder, but could not find them. Even if Relic could not fix the problem with stamps still included, I'd be more than happy if they fixed it like this until they can fix it with stamps.

Yeah, it should really be hotfixed like this until they have a proper solution. I mean, I remember this shit in alpha. It has pretty serious gameplay ramifications.

+1

I bet that Relic won't fix this issue because it would be too humilating. Anyway nice work!
