I really really hope that isn't true, what a truly terrible way to make a strategy game.

As I said before, Relic employees have in the past bragged about not allowing the balance team to touch new commanders until those commanders are released. That is the exact reason why for the first two months after release the Tiger Ace was ridiculously OP. Whether that is still the case I can't say but I certainly hope relic has learned their lesson lest we see the arrival of a King Tiger Ace.

What if I told you its on the way then?
Because relic learns NOTHING from their own repeated mistakes that were pointed out for MONTHS every update.

That sucks. :/ But he doesn't have to be in Canada to publish his thoughts on balance and what his philosophy is.
I haven't seen any new requests for Balance designers but I suspect that they'll recruit internally for such a position.

Ps. Recruiting a new Community manager as of the 15th? Didn't they just do that?


That is right, I don't have to be in Canada to publish my thoughts but after leaving Relic I've been really busy, I am studying a new language (Korean) and working practically full-time at the same time.

But now my permanent residency application got approved, which means I will be going to Canada soon and so I have been getting in the COH2 loop again! I will be posting more from now on and give valuable feedback when I can.

Gl Peter in your next position. Thanks for all the patches that fixed so many things already :)


In regards to the size of player Base, I think it has far more to do with this being a very niche RTS which has a very steep learning curve, than balance at a higher level of play.
