Feel free to give it a vote in the 'new and improved' bug tracker! It's currently sitting at the top of the Cosmetic Issues column.

I've had it happen to me once, or maybe twice. It probably has to do with your sound drivers, i mean, i see no other explanation why it happens on a daily basis for some people, and almost never for others. This being said, i have not launched CoH2 since a good two months now.
It seems highly improbable that it has to do with the sound drivers. The sound driver just relays the information delivered by the game to whatever output device is used. It has no influence on what sound-files are played or on when they are played.

um, they do, since the sound files are passed through and processed by the sound card drivers and then generated by the speaker drivers (bit of a pun there). if there's an issue with the drivers or a communication issue between the drivers and the software you can get problems.

Look at the replay or should i say listen at 29:49. There is your best bug/error or whatever in this game. Maybe if you download the replay you can analyse it and get to the bottom of this.

And just for fun, put headphones on and turn the volume up (like most of us do when we play the game) and enjoy this painful experience for your ears.

Maybe Relic is trying to get CoH2 into the "horror" genre search on steam by having "jump scares"?Survival horror. Sound bugs are just as scary as necromorphs.

I did run on Low for a bit and didn't get it, but couldn't stand to keep it there very long...

Wonder how long before Fox News claims someone had a heart attack playing COH2

Could people who never get this issue check their audio quality settings? There was some talk that it only happens if you run on High. No idea if this is true but it may help narrow it down if it is.

~~300 hours on max settings (well, maybe 50 of those were on my craptop) and i've never gotten it. i have an ASUS Xonar on custom drivers though.

This seems to be the case, the next step is the 'make war not love' blood spatter skin pack

i'm not entirely sure how USB audio works but my understanding is that it comes off the motherboard (where the USB jacks are) instead of whatever else you have. also, USB audio sucks.
