Maybe blizt can be only used to move forward?
Bliztkrieg is about fast and massive attack, not about fast retreat

I'd be happy with 'cannot blitz' if vehicle is 50% or less health, at least
And smoke 'get out of jail' ability should be looked into.

I don't know if that's possible, vehicles only have one speed, regardless of direction.

But you are using specific button to reverse so I think it's easy to tie reverse button with blitzkrieg so blitzkrieg stops when that button was used.

you can order vehicles to reverse without using the button.

My point is, it's not so hard to detect if vehicle is moving forward or backward.

Maybe it should be like a ram that does not hit its target. The engine should get overheated and the tank speed should slow down after its duration. So, it would be i risk to use it. I would also maybe make it a little bit cheaper to balance it a little bit (because of the engine damage you would apply to your own tank).

relic had infantry update and tank update with varied range profile and penetration profile. I m sure adding forward speed and backward speed isnt an issue.

But it is impossible to tie different speeds/bonuses depending on direction vector.
Impossible for coh2 engine that is.
At best you can turn off possibility to move backwards, like it was done with the bike in coh1, but you can't make anything go reverse with different speed then forward.
Initial idea(which was already posted many, many times before) would do the job of taking care of this op ability making it tactical flanking/spearhead choice, not a no-brainer lolescape.

Select point on map: tank rushes like ram forwardly to that point.
This means that if you want to run away you have to give your rear and blitz can still be used offensively during combat.

and you have how much programming experience/familiarity with the engine?
i'm not trying to be rude but that's a fucking stupid comment to make unless you have at least a basic understanding of the game engine.

So many ways to fix it, that's a great one and an incredibly easy minimal effort way for Relic to do so.

Blitz needs fixing? Blitz out of combat would be fairly useless at least for the current price. On the other hand, Soviet tank vet ability should be more useful, ie. limited self repair for ammo or something, especially seeing as combat engineers repair so slowly.

Combat Engineers (and Pioneers) repair at normal speed, USF and OKW just have turbo-repairs.

What exactly is the high price you pay for 'blitzing out of combat' and saving your panthers ass?
