Vcoh = close range infantry combat - CoH 2 = long range infantry combat.
Derailing is my duty. Remember when Panzergrenadiers could get only one shreck for 60 muni..

Penalbattalion troopmodels exploding in flames when killed. You could use them as suiside troops.
Mortars destroying everything.
Flamers destroying everything.
T34 always destroyed enemy tanks maingun when ramming.
Flamehalftrack with vet3.
Being able to build elefant from t4.
Doctrinal units had to be built from buildings.

When you needed the Elefant to counter the SU85
When Pzgrens could be upgraded with only one Schreck and you got an unstoppable anti everything killing force by that.
When the meta was to rush for a flame hft to counter 1 cp shock troops.

I remember people complaining that SU-85s had warp speed and were stupidly strong.

Too true! A truly amazing Commander- touch a T3 building to construct it, and it was up - just like that! Select a T34,or2? They were out in the middle of Steppes, before you could draw breath...and add in the repair bunker....game over

I remember when the German sniper had a chance at surviving at close-range and soloing wounded squads because he had 2.0 armour.
-222 being even more worse than it is now because the cannon took away the coaxial machine gun.
-Brummbar with no scatter.
-251 Half-track's machine gun was a CoH 1 tank's hull MG aka useless
-TWP able to hit moving vehicles when used by the pak.
-KV-8 absurd when it had 40 damage. Two ticks, dead.
-Soviet vision abilities granting extended vision for the ZIS, assault guns. So good back then.
-Maxims before they got all their nerfs and before the 25% received damage before received accuracy change.
-Shocks being melee infantry after the March Deployment
-IS-2 never having the same amount of HP as a Tiger until recently for some strange reason.
-Shocks needing to upgrade PPSHs. I miss those voice lines. "Now that we have our PPSHs the huns will die by the hundreds."

Why do you have to come into this thread and try to stir up a flamewar?
I'm not talking about balance here, i think it's fairly easy to say that in the current game PPSH conscripts stand pretty much no chance againts LMG grens , that t-34/76 is vastly overshadowed by everything else including t-34/85s, is-2s and isu-152s.

Remember when maxims did 16 dmg per bullet, and their suppression sucked, resulting maxim killing 1 grenadier model before even suppressing, and winning vs deployed MG 42 by running to its arc of fire and then shooting it to death?
Remember when partisans had to upgrade armor, and were actually very good with it?
Remember old AT gun veterancy giving damage bonus, resulting in a 320 damage for ZIZ AT GUN/Pak 40 and 2 shotting an full HP Pz IV
remember the 5% more damage bulletins for infantry and more HP
And the old Hit the dirt as someone already mentioned it, giving it 0.5 received accuracy (also stacking with cover) so even enemy snipers would miss, when shooting at conscripts
Remember when people used HULLDOWN, and nobody had any issues with Radio Intercept showing deployed mines on the minimap untill Advanced Warfare Tactics were released and everyone used that commander
