Why do dead bodies disappear?

One thing that I feel that is really missing that would really place you into the battlefield is seeing the dead soldiers ( makes me sounds crazy lol) After soldiers are shot they just crawl then "poof" gone as if they never died... I've never understood why they disappear. Tanks blow up and are left, why don't the soldiers do?

Its common thing to bury fallen soldiers and take the wounded of the field.

Battlefields were littered with destroyed thanks (because no one buried those), destroyed buildings, bridges, (no one cleaned that mess away) etc.

It would be nice if there was animation of medic trucks picking up wounded and dead. But not dead bodies rotting around the fields imho

was just an idea... But I get where you all are coming from. The game needs to be better optimized first

i have 2x670s. SLI doesn't work so i have 1 for gameplay purposes. i run the game at 2560x1440 at max settings (bar AA, i think) and i get ~~45 fps iirc. i occasionally get lag when a lot is going on and there's a blizzard or lots of particles. persistent bodies, especially the unit models, would be bad.
