Ardennes Assault - Video Preview

Found an interesting preview of Ardennes Assault on Youtube here:

Unfortunately, In their 2 hour session of the game, they only played 1 mission, But apparently they experienced multiple companies
Seems it's similar to Theater of War where you select a sector of the Battle of the Bulge, e.g St.Vith, and you experience the battle there
Not entirely sure on the specifics yet, But the video is illuminating

Seems highly interesting, it's very different to the linear campaign of the Original COH2. My favorite part was the bit about Germans gaining veterancy too if you fight them over time in different sectors.

I do recommend watching the video, However I have a short list of highlights:

- Inclusion of a Regional MetaMap of the Battle of the Bulge
- Germans gain Veterancy
- Dynamic Events, such as Mission Parameters, enemy activity, regional activity, and pop up shifting objectives
- Never play the same way twice

Why didn't they incorporate this into MP as well, this dynamic campaign is amazing idea, it reminds of the EIR:R mod that was so great. Will throw all my money as relic if it goes to MP

All of my YES. I would fork over unlimited money if there was a persistent strategic map to the multiplayer.

If only Relic could make the AI a little more dynamic as well.

From the videos I've seen infantry just sits there and fights to the last man. Halftracks are happy to just sit there and get destroyed by a Sherman. I wish the AI would retreat and reinforce exposed positions.

The cupola definitely defines it as a Panzer IV. The details are poor, but I'd venture a guess it's an Ausf. H.

Rosbone: Knowing how companies work, I imagine a new hire making the menus. The API they are using is complicated and things were hard to figure out. But at some point QA or management should have addressed these things. Usually within 6 months of starting.

KoRneY: @aerafield It's possible that it is underpriced for what it is capable of now, no need to go full retard and take it immediately as a massive problem. It costs 60 more MP than a pz.3 and in 2v2 the barrage can be quite strong.
