Played a few games last night after the patch and hotfix. Couple of things I noticed right off the bat:

My panzer 4 was wiping squads LIKE CRAZY. It one shot a full 6 man con squad, then a 5 man mortar squad. This might be because models are bunching up more? Either way, not good man, not good.

OKW flak halftrack is just as insane as in the beta. One full burst and full health rifleman squad is wiped. Again, not good.

This was a much needed change. Sherman had no chance against shreck-wereckers, but with HE it's much more useful now.

The flak HT is still inaccurate and only effective on open maps.

I'm still assuming RNG, but today my P4 1-shot a gren squad that I'd just parked in green cover right in front of it. Actually really liked seeing that happen because it was a stupid place to stand, and it was one of those rare squad wipes that looked totally right with the animations.

Didn't notice any difference with my T34/76. Still needed to crush a Volksgren squad that was out in the open after not killing a single model in 4 shots while not moving.

This is in line with my experiences from the 1v1s I've done today. I had a P4 kill 4 out of 5 riflemen in an almost full health squad, all with a single shot. I'm not sure if this is a good change or not, but it's definitely a huge one.

Since units clump up more now, it's only logical that they get now more often wiped by anything that has a large enough aoe.

Also noticed that you have to be careful about how you position your troops because they can sort of clump in a small space for gernades.

Patch notes from oct, 29th:

"Projectile Tuning

Modified the behavior of tp_homing_inf projectiles to not collide with a number of world objects such as bushes or light fences. In effect, this change will increase the strength of any weapon using this projectile type. This will impact the reliability of hand held AT like the Bazooka and flak weaponry like the Ostwind or 251 Flak Half-track. These weapon types will no longer continuously hit world objects, thereby missing their targets."

I think the suppression values went up.

If the P4 is going to be so god-like at killing infantry is there ANY reason to buy an Ostwind anymore? Apart from being paranoid of P47 strikes?

Nah the flak HT could always suppress very fast, it's jsut that it never hit so suppression was low

I think it has to do with units clumping up more with the new cover mechanics

panzerIV has always been capable of this, it's nothing new. Are some of you saying you've never had your infantry squad instantly destroyed by a panzerIV? It's a good tank.

T34/76 just one shotted my Obersoldaten squad :D But that's ok, since the input lag is now shorter, its always upon you to dodge nades or bypass tanks.

Couple more:

OKW base & buildable flak emplacement accuracy increased by 8x (0.025 --> 0.2), suppression doubled
Rear echelons carbine shots until reload 8.5 --> 14 (very slight increase in DPS, slight increase in volley suppression)
Paratrooper carbine shots until reload 8.5 --> 14
Jagdtiger min range from 0 to 8, ISU min range from 5 to 7

Early game is a little less ridiculous than Fisherprice's My First RTS now but it's still the case that the german player has already won at minute zero and it's solely your majestic skill playing ally that allows you to turn the game around and win against all odds.
