So since the last driver update (344.48) that Nvidia launched for the most recent GPU's with recent architectures a feature called DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) which lets you play Nvidia compatible games at 2 or even 4 times more resolution in-game and then downscaling it, making the game look much more sharper and less pixelated.

Compatible Graphic Cards:

Since CoH2 is compatible with Nvidia GeForce Experience you can use this feature. How to use it?
It is very simple.
  • Update your Nvidia GeForce Drivers to the most recent - Nvidia Website
  • Search Nvidia on the start menu
  • Select Nvidia Control Panel
  • Click on "Manage 3D Settings" - Print-screen
  • Click on "Global Settings" tab
  • Now Select "DSR - Factors" and check the following factors - Factors Print-Screen
  • Now click Apply and close the game Nvidia Control Panel
  • Go again to Start menu and search for "GeForce" and select the GeForce Experience Application
  • Click the Games top tab to the left
  • Search for installed games (if it doesn't find go to preferences and add directory)
  • Once it finds CoH2 click on it on the left and click on the little Wrench icon for custom settings - Print-Screen
  • Now click on the Resolution list and scroll up to the Dynamic Super Resolutions where you can find the new resolutions to play
  • If you have 16:9 Monitor then u have the option to chose 4K resolution but since mine is 16:10 I will choose the one closest to it - Print-Screen
  • Click apply and play the game!

Theres however an annoying thing: CoH2 UI doesnt like high resolutions so the UI will get smaller.

How it affects performance if you played COH2 in 1080 before?

of course this is gonna make the GPU use more power so if you have already low FPS this is not really recommended.

Imagine you are playing on a 4K monitor, its obvious that your graphics card will need to render more pixels

Yes, your graphics card needs to render more pixels, only use this if you do not have any FPS issues

Will this work on laptop GeForce models (such as GTX760M)? And will lowering graphics settings but enabling this resolution help maintain FPS?

Not sure if it works with laptops but you can try.
About the graphics I am sure it will help usually the textures because rendering textures in 4K is big job

Hmmmm... I have a GTX 770 and my monitor is 2560x1440p. Might have to try this. The GTX 770 seems to barely handle COH2 as it is (lol)... might not be good.

How is this different from the 200% game resolution option?

If im not mistaken they removed the 200% game resolution option.

Unless I've misunderstood something Med/High AA does the same thing, without scaling the interface.

doubt it's going to work if you're on max settings. i have a pair of 670s (i know, only one is used) and i get good frame rates most of the time but not enough that i can afford to run at 4 times (same res as you) res.

In CoH 2, anti-aliasing (Medium -> 225% and High -> 400%) already do supersampling. If we enable Nvidia supersampling we should put anti-aliasing in low in CoH 2 graphics options or our GPU will do twice the "same" work, no?
Maybe the question is, Is that Nvidia supersampling is better than that of Relic?

Might give this a try tonight. Does anyone have some comparison screenshots in the meantime?

COH2 AA (Med or High) is simply SSAA (Anti-Aliasing Technique) it is said that the DSR performs much better and faster than SSAA since its programmed into the graphics driver and has no AA limitations

Check it out:
I found this for the interested:

That write-up just confirms that it's the same as SSAA, and the primary benefit is compatibility since some games don't allow SSAA any other way.

Nice screenshots, willyto! Great to see the game in its cinematic no-UI glory from obsmode. Very very cool. Upload your favorite to trending.
