Hi all. apologies if there is a thread like this already, I did a search but didn't see anything.

What are the maps everyone usually veto's as OKW?

For 1v1 I usually veto Stalingrad, Le Gleize Breakout, Semoskiy (summer)

For 2v2 usually Ettelbruck station, Semoskiy (summer), Moscow (Winter) and Rzhev

What maps does do you veto, and why?

Shocksbruck Station (obvious)

Moscow (both)

Rzhev (too big for 2v2)

Rail Station (ISU is just god here)

As OKW stalingrad, semoskiy (both; no space for buildings in my opinion), rzhey (they should make it 3v3 only), and in 4v4 la gleize (because of lags only, actually i like this map)

1v1: Stalingrad (too PPSch, Flamer heavy, OKW has mostly long range firepower), Minsk Pocket (far too big, hard to place a good HQ, La Glaize too much dominant buildings, OKW can't get them out, no flamers, no Mortar)

Interesting. Why Crossing in the Woods out of curiosity?

The rest mirror my veto list.

Asking the same question myself. I've found Crossing in the woods one of my best maps as OKW, and Ettelbruck one of my worst. Each to their own I guess...

2vs2: Hurtgen forest, Minsk Pocket, Rzhev, Ettelbruck

Minks Pocket is just horrible map, has always been. Never really liked it. Rzhev is nice in 3vs3 but only in that. Ettelbruck... jeez, I would veto it until the end of times. It's one of those maps that will disappear from map rotation in near future I'm sure.

Well speaking from a general 2v2 perspective. The map is too small and the river in the middle limits movement way too much. So your average 2v2 will end in a Arty slugfest combined with a ISU/Jagdtiger duel.

In 2v2 I usually veto semoski summer, minsk, rzhew and crossing.

I wonder why so many people veto semois summer as axis.
It is instant basepin and easy 2 VP control for OKW with Kübel and ost support.
Its a really good aaxis map if you ask me

1v1 in my opinion if i like any maps and be comfortable on it 70% i will win.if we could veto 4 or 5 maps :-),i always veto (stalin) i dont have enough MP to make sturmpioneers, (la gleize) i dont like it.(semosky)because if i lose mid in any reason alies can camp there easily and block the road near river.

crossing is a very small map, and therefore maxim spam is very strong on that map. its really hard to cross the river and they can lock you out of the fuel very early. also artillery is very strong on that map because the map itself is so small.

ettelbruck is very strong for OKW because you can wire off the top VP with fortified wire, and then slowly wire off the rest of the streets until only the middle vp and bottom vp are available to the enemy. then you just mass mgs and arty.

minks is a pretty strong axis map right now since OKW can place their medic truck right next to the middle VP around the 2min mark and then push the left side and their fuel simultaenously using kubels/mg34s/mg42s. its very easy to take their fuel and hold it for most of the game.
