If the Jackson were reduced to 160 damage sure, but as it stands Jacksons are just too damaging to be able to stand with another Heavy Tank. They have that damage because USF lacks a Heavy Tank.

Jackson has such a slow reload, the 240 damage still leaves it doing less DPS than an SU-85

No late game? Jackson? Stop using them as meatshields and you will be fine, trust us lol

And what should you use as meat shields? There is little to stop a German player from driving even a P4 through your lines and killing the Jackson. That and maps with lots of shot blockers really wreck the Jackson.

Just kite the german tanks with Jacksons. If they have jagdtiger use the priest, at least it will put good pressure on enemy super tanks...seriously.

....but often found itself confounded by Volks with Panzerschreks, the deadly lightweight Puma, not to mention the JagdPanzer....

Well I didn't go there, but I can. In all honesty, US Doctrine translates horribly into CoH2 and I wish Relic realised that sooner. We attacked with Shermans and brought in the Tank Killers when we met Armoured resistance. The problem with that is in CoH2, you're always expected to meet armoured resistance, so TD's are always the go-to unit and the Sherman takes a back-seat in everything. Another thing is we don't have Airplanes in CoH2 that destroy any KT or JT for us before we get to the front.

The side-effect is that the Americans in CoH2 cannot deal well with armour because Relic cannot figure out how to make them good at with whilst still making it fair to the German player, because a P-47 blowing up your Jagdtiger as soon as USF knows it's there isn't fun.

Personally I feel they should have gone with 76mm Shermans (Weren't those in the trailer..?) and maybe a Radio Car that calls-in a slow-constant Artillery on Tanks instead of having a weapon. (now I'm just fantasizing..)

What? Sherman has always taken a back-seat even in vCOH.

Except if you have advantage early game and can transfer it to late game then you may have the luxury of using Sherman to relatively good effect. Otherwise only a wall of AT guns, M10/M18 and good use of sniper/arty can save you from Axis vetted tanks and infantries.

Nah, in CoH1 the Sherman was the general tank, and you could get 76mm versions which could compete with Panzer IV's.

Problem is in late game vCOH it's not Panzer IV that you have to compete with, but vetted Tiger, Panther, Stug IV and Shrek Gren blobs. Against those Sherman would become obsolete quickly.

Army Essence Statement: US Forces

>The US Forces were not ‘advantaged’ with heavy tanks. There is absolutely no equivalent to Tigers, King Tigers, Jagdtigers. This is an intended asymmetrical element that matches history.

A doctrine with a pershing isn't a bad idea, but i think relic has already planned something, otherwise there would be no slot for heavy armor camos and you got to do something with it. Or it's just relic and it will be a totaly useless slot for the next 100 years. I would like seeing the pershing as a better panther not a vehicle like the tiger, a faster vehicle with weaker armor than the tiger , that wouldn't be that much against the faction design and it would be more realistic too.

Yes...but in WWII.. the Allies had overwhelming air superiority. This is where the game trumps RL.

So,I have a certain sympathy for those who argue that the US Forces should have access to a late, strong battle tank, and possibly more "extras" equivalent to the vCoH Armor doctrine. But remember, that in vCoH, the Pershing was doctrinal....(OTOH, so was the King Tiger)

I'd rather they stick to the USF statement and make an AT Artillery unit (like a radio car) that gets it's DPS from precision strikes against tanks. As a non-doctrinal unit of course.
