I'm honestly too baffled by the fact that this is a German commander to comprehend what is going on in that video.

I mean by 1944 it was the Germans who were constantly being encircled (especially by soviets).

Just build a cache on a cut off to protect it.

That's... actually pretty reasonable.

it baffles me too. For a game based on WW2, relic has no clue about history

Alternatively, DONT DESIGN POINT, CLICK, WIN ABILITIES. Its kind of why no one likes to build lefh/ml-20. No need to send a force there to deal with it when clicking a button will blow it up.

Guys, on the tactical level, the German army was still conducting encirclements. Remember we are talking, well, company sized units here, and Germans weren't exactly losing tactically until the very last stages of the war.

German tactical brilliance is what kept them in the war so long in the first place.

We should probably try defending the cut off with shocks in an m3 too.

Well...it only works in encircled sectors...the only problem is the way it works...

I've yet to get hit by it yet, but from what I've seen they just need to tone it down. Artillery constantly falling on any units in the sector is already cause for immediate retreat. There's no need for such a drastic ROF. Lower the speed of the artillery to allow for the player on the recieving end to run or reconnect with minimal damage and the ability will be fine.

At first, i thought it would be difficult to isolate large sections of sectors, but the faction includes a point-click-neutralize sector button as well as infantry that spawn in buildings, so...

Nice job designing a commander with its own playstyle instead of assisting a player's playstyle.

Will a cache survive the stuka dive bomb?

As far as I see the ability stops as soon the cutoff is retaken...
It's a new ability and therefore the enemy was caught of guard, imo pretty easy to handle:

-build caches
-Instantly retake your cut offs
-retreat your units

I concede that while there were German encirclements like Bastogne (though I don't think they were any more tactically brilliant on average than their allied counterparts :D), I still feel it would have fit better with an allied faction thematically.

What did I just watch! This is like the most crazy arty I have ever seen! On the upside at least it encourages sweeping large cut off plays. Instead of your average back and forth.

Make it only affect one targeted sector I guess?

Or does it already do that?

Because if it targets all cut-off sectors in one "pocket" that's crazy OP on some maps.

It targets all sectors that are not connected or are cut-off if you will
