So I had just got my Jackson about thirty seconds after both enemy players bought PzII's.... WOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I had some pathfinders in the same control group as my Jackson for spotters. They sent some infantry and the Pz II's in not knowing about my Jackson. LET THE MURDER PARTY BEGIN!!!!!!!!!

Shit starts flying I smack a PZ for over half it's health. Their ISG and infantry start eating up my pathfinders. Being a commander who loves my men I selected the group with the hot key and mashed the fuck out of 't' to get them out of there. (Because I've had *serious* problems where the command does not register and I lose squads. This is an unacceptable issue IMO, and it's been there since launch.........)

My pathfinders haul ass out of there.

Then my Jackson de-crews.

Then the crew hauls ass out of there.

Then I got to find out what it's like to be a guest at the murder party instead of the host.....

Dear relic, please change the default hotkey to de-crew a vehicle.

Yes. 100%. It's even worse than the key to exit a vehicle and use overdrive.

happens to me all the time.

The hotkey for dismount (D) is also the same as the hotkey for Step On It! for american transport vehicles. This is even worse.

You could switch to gridkeys; the dismount button is F, while the retreat button is R according to that setting.

Is this with the grid layout for hotkeys or default? Or do different vehicles have different dismount/de-crew keys?

Any time I de-crew to repair I just end up clicking the button since I'm gonna chain the repair and re-crew commands by shift clicking too. That's why I never noticed the hot key until now.

Some of us actually like using the classic layout, you know. :P It's just more natural since CoH1.

It'd be nice if Relic finally implemented a proper keybinding system. As it stands, key binds are defined in the ability file which is just silly. DoW2 had a .cfg file you could edit to change keys, but that was still way more clunky than a proper interface.

This would have caused the Jackson to reverse to the location whilst the pathfinders don't retreat.

Slightly less disastrous but still :D

Maybe they did it on purpose because Relic finds it hilarious to troll people.

I really like this idea ahah.

Grid keys solves most of the problems if not all. I used to be an advocate of the ol' times but after a few matches of getting used to grid keys, it's great and i feel less like i am fighting the interface and that it overall increased my performances slightly. Try it for like 3 matches and report back!

I'm sure I'm not the OKW player who's wondered why raketens kept magically appearing at my T1 buildings rally point.

1. Select Volks squad to reinforce (accidentally and unknowingly select the T1 building).
2. Spam the R key to reinforce.
3. Wonder what's taking so long for them to reinforce.
4. Wait another 30 seconds.
5. Notice three raketens standing around with nothing to shoot at.

I use classic hotkeys and it's never happened to me.

Never group vehicle and infantry together, not even for A-moves.

Both happened to me and my opponents, lol

The hotkey config is quite stupid, while switched to USF, I kept pressing E and wonder what's wrong with the pineapple.

God, grenades are grenades, why there are different hotkey of it?

Heh, fair enough. But at least it wouldn't be as disastrous as leaving a fully functional tank for your opponent. :P
