Okay... so a quick thought experiment.

Weapon profiles are unchanged by he squad holding them, at vet 0, correct? So a BAR rifle is just as dangerous in the hands of vet 0 Rear echelon as it is in the hands of vet 0 Guard Riflemen, for example.

Does this mean that, given that Volksgrens get such large cumulative bonuses to both accuracy and received accuracy (and weapon cooldown); by the time they hit vet 5, they are one of the most dangerous squads to give weapon upgrades?

For example, passive suppression aside, surely a vet 5 volksgren with an MG34 is more dangerous than an Obersoldaten with the same vet 5 and MG34?

Have you seen a Vet 5 Volksgrenadier squad with dual MG34s?

They're the embodiment of the Terminator. o.O So yea, I'm pretty sure that the veterancy stacks with picked-up weapons.

This was asked at the official forums quite soon after war spoils came out, and I am almost certain that they do stack. So 3x10% is not 30%, it would be 100*0.1+110%*0.1+121%*0.1, so something like 134% in the final tally. Slightly more but not a lot.

As I absorb the WFA veterancy stats more I notice small details that further define units roles on the battlefield.

The one I just saw was for Assault Engineers for the USF.

Vet 1: +50% repair speed Unlocks repair critical
Vet 2: -25% weapon cooldown -29% received accuracy
Vet 3: +40% weapon accuracy

50% repair speed at vet 1?!

Awesome.

@OP:

The USF Major's vet3 also allows it to lock down the territory where it sets up its retreat point, preventing capture from the enemy: this is passive, so one would never know without looking the the minimap and realizing a part of the game has a green highlight.

Pack Howitzer
  • Unlocks white phosphorus barrage
  • switches to pack_howitzer_75mm_barrage_heat_mp (stats to come)
  • +33% range -30% ability recharge

I believe the Pack howitzer does 160 damage at vet 2 instead of the default 80 damage.
Potentially the best vet bonus in the game

Anyone have an idea as to where once can find the data on just how much XP each unit's vet level is needed? Most infantry have less than 1920 experience to reach max vet, even OKW's vet5s, judging from using Elite Troop doctrine's training ability on them. I've actually been doing an experiment and logging data from that angle.

If it's 40% percent increase I don't know but it definly increases. I dont know what is wrong with your picture then, maybe it is because of the end screen.

Weird indeed as G43 panzerfusiliers are supposed to be the ones getting sight increase and maybe JLI as well, but certainly not volks.

How are you so sure? It is clearly written in teh vet4 description they get a sight increase. the vet descirption are somewhat vague yes but it is intended. Balanced? i'll leave that up to you

Veterancy Rank 4:
The squad has increased field awareness and weapon accuracy.

Try playing the game more.

Because vet descriptions are soo accurate and should be reliant.
Like the vet3 conscripts description that say they become faster, right?

But in this case you are rigt, vet4 volks are supposed to get 40% sight range.
Why I have never noticed that before? Probably because I use them together with panzerfusiliers who already have huge sight range with G43.

For the most part, they are generally accurate (barring the conscript vet 3). No reason to outright claim them to be false, especially when Sarantini just posted an example of the Vet 4 bonus working.

But on another note, does anyone have the vet bonuses for the Wehrmacht Puma? It doesn't appear on this guide, nor on the old veterancy guide for eastern front factions.
