Well, it won't reliably bounce these paks and tigers.

It could get little less penetration, but I don't believe its survivability is any issue considering that US have nothing that can take hit and fight anything heavier then light tanks except this single tank.

i dont think anyone is questioning its durability. the fact it is better AT and AI than the t34/85 (already a solid all around tank) is what makes the cost/value of this unit questionable. atleast the sherman has to choose between HE or AP rounds. the easy eight essentially has both all the time

There's nothing inherently wrong with a heavy-medium or heavy US tank, it just needs to be priced accordingly and arrive at the right CP values. Whether the E8 is is debatable.

Am i the only one who used the M4C as a comparison for the E8?

They use the same gun.

Right? (checking now, it looked similar when i was looking at the numbers...

It would be strange to modify one's gun, but not the other...

ZiS-3 and SU-76

SU-85 and T34/85

ML-20 howitzer and ISU-152.

PaK43 and Elephant.

Jagdpanzer4 and Panther.

Just to name a couple examples.

Whatever. I see no point in changing it that way.

What bonus?

It gets 50% less accuracy and 2x more scatter as every other tank.

Just had a long game against Elite rifle again with multiple panther on Sherman engagements, and if the Panther with its shitty accuracy and ROF is ahead at all, the margin is very slim. Coupled with the fact that with tech/opportunity costs it will be at a 1 on 2 fight, a hotfix is due.

Exactly i've used panther vs this and its often touch and go when ur panther's shit accuracy fails u.And the fact that he'll have 2 to ur 1 usually makes this even worse.I just hate panthers missing shots and poor damage..even if u made a flank its marginal effect at best.Add its useless AI and u can only rage at these mediums sometimes.

No tech, just 135 for the tank at 9CPs.

Wehr Panther costs 45+50+60+35+175, or 365 if you skip every tier except 1 and 4. No CP cost.

OKW Panther costs (80+175)*1.5, or 382 if you don't convert or scavenge.

Ye part of Panthers problem is that its a purely defensive investment with one sole utility. Unless you actually get to kill up to two enemy mediums/one heavy (call ins that is) you will never ever amortise its cost since you can't really hurt infantry - even though there are worse perfomers still in that regard - SU 85 I am looking at you. Of course it might have some deterrance value but with Panthers current performance this is shaky at best. In pure economic terms the Special Ops command Panther might still represent the best investment since it does not require tech. But gosh does it come late, and in 9 out of 10 games you cannot leave that gaping hole where your AT capability should be.

Spec ops Panther comes just at the right time if you know your enemy is going for call in spam. It's my favourite of the Panther variants in-game for that reason.

Maths bro

3 * 0.66... = 2
2 * 1.33... = 2.66...
2 * 1.5 = 3

If you subtract 1/3 from a number, you need to add *half* of the new number to get the old number again. Not one third, as demonstrated above.

OKW starts with 40 fuel, so thats why you didnt include that, but why did you multiply by 1.5? OKW fuel penalty is 0.66% , 2 fuel for a normal 3.

I thought it would be about 340 fuel. (1.3333333)

If OKW gets 2 out of 3 gas units per second, would the cost of fuel units not be half as much again over the sticker price? Assuming 2 is the baseline, +1 more would be +50% of normal income... Unless I've made a very elementary math mistake, in which case I apologize...

This is why there needs to be a tech requirement.
