MGs were later imbedded into German squads in order to make up for the rate of fire deficiency due to American squads being equipped with Garands and BARs.

Dunno why nobody told you, but the "fuck yeah bashing germans" forums where you can tell you heroic facts about "shitty" german tanks which get oneshotted by shermans and super weak german soldiers are somewhere else. Nice that you call others axis fanboys but fail to take a look at yourself.

By the way get back to the topic. You can't have realism and balance at the same time.

The OKW DOES have a mechanics problem, as some have pointed out the Vet levels do make their infantry better in late game. The problem is getting to late game and I do think this is a problem with the faction over-all. In a game where early resource denial can make or break an army it does hurt a very weak early game army like the OKW. I won't go into many of the small details as have already been stated, but the faction does need some work in how it functions.

Right now many people are still getting used to how the OKW runs, both those using the faction and those facing it. The WFA hasn't even been out a month and although some people have become proficient at using and beating the OKW, I really think it will take a few months to get a better feel for the faction in the over all meta (it doesn't help that half the commanders are locked behind Relic's lottery). Only having 3 easily accessible commanders and not a year's worth of patching (like the Soviets and Ostheer) are going to make this faction a frustrating topic. The Americans I think are going to be an interesting topic down the road if the riflemen get some kind of nerf. Just like the OKW I do think the Americans have a different play-style than many people realize and it will take some time for more people to get accustomed to how they function.

So the video overall I think did make some good points, but also was just based off of one player's experiences. The over-reacting to the video I feel is ridiculous. I really doubt Relic is going to watch this video and implement every suggestion he made. So people, CALM DOWN.

Are you taking the piss here? Because there is virtually nothing in your assorted posts here which is factually correct.
FYI, Mgs were "imbedded" into German infantry squads already in Reichswehr times, (although seperated into an mg and a rifle element, together forming one squad - this distinction was abandoned from 1937 onwards) meaning predating the formation of the Wehrmacht and indeed the so-called "third Reich", let alone the beginning of US-German hostilities which started in earnest only in 1942 - by which time the German army had been at war for 3 years already.

In fact, this is perhaps of pretty subordinate importance in the grand scheme of things in modern warfare. Still, that doesnt change the facts. Why dont you read this, and go from there:

A lot of things in CoH/CoH2 are like "WWII as it happened according to pop culture". The campaigns in particular draw a lot of inspiration from movies etc (or Band of Brothers). Even outside of that you see a lot of tropey stuff based on misconceptions like "The Sherman is a total piece of shit", "Germany had the best of everything" and whatnot. I find OKW to be particularly egregious example of this given that it's a faction based around having supertanks and supersoldiers. Makes you wonder why the Germans didn't win the war sometimes!

Wow, what a shock, a player (Dane) who exclusively plays Germans wants the German factions buffed.

His most played faction is soviets and he played also more games as USA than OKW.

Too naive, Affe. Wiki is not a source. And you never consider POWs, which is part of war. The Germans took so few POWs after 1942 since they lost constantly.

They were decent 'tactically' (decent tactical units) but very poor strategically and operationally by 44-45. That makes their generalship terrible and their war doctrine bankrupt. They were awful at offensive operations as well, and could only defend.

You really need to study more about how the war was actually fought- I've seen you post this bogus argument too many times!

Say what you will about Dane, he is nonetheless a real trooper for CoH2, and though you dont have to agree with him, he does deserve respect.

Since even before launch, guy hasnt missed a beat with consistent, constant and quality reportage on the game and he delivers his critique in a constructive and conducive way.

My only regret, is that he is unfortunately danish, which invariably leads to slurring his speach like a drunken man :P

Dane is a decent player, a great caster but is one of the most blatantly biased players. At some points in alpha testing OKW was ungodly overpowered and he still wanted to buff them. He also thought that the 100 range elefant needed a buff, literally called it useless.

Anyways, as I was saying, I respect dane as a person, player, and caster but his balance opinions are far from objective, nor should most of them be taken seriously.

I wonder why is he in the beta then....
