Hey guys, was just wondering what your thoughts were on the King Tiger vs. the Tiger Ace. What is the more useful unit? I am trying to take all things into consideration here, including the time it takes to get these units out.
As we can see, the Tiger Ace comes out as a vet 3 Tiger with increased sight range, or so I am led to believe. The King Tiger comes out with no vet, but it has the possibility of vet 5 (which I don't necessarily think is even possible in a normal game, especially because it takes a while to get the KT out in the first place, maybe only being able to get it to vet 2 if you are utilizing it well.) The KT costs 720 manpower and 260 fuel, with a 26 population investment. It also requires all 3 sWS Halftracks to be upgraded to be purchased. The Tiger Ace is a call-in unit so it takes 15 command points, on top of 800 manpower, and like the KT comes with a 26 population investment.
I do believe, even without testing it, that the KT will definitely come out faster than the Ace, but am wondering which is the more potent unit. What are your thoughts?

The King Tiger is rarely called in unless the game gets long while the Tiger ace is regularly called in.
The Tiger ace is much better overall.

Tiger Ace Wins. It can come with a whole army of PIVs for escort since it costs 0 fuel.
Both or potent but the Tiger Ace is actually faster and easier to preserve.
Elite forces is still retarded....

I used the TA in a tight 4v4 game the other night, for the first time in months. It's strength has always been the "Hero" nature of it - High rate of fire + sight + speed + special abilities makes this unit very strong.
The King Tiger is an oddball. I have had it used against me very well in a few situations, and have myself used it a few times with great effect. It's speed and turret traverse make it easy to take down if you get behind it. Used as a "spearhead" in support of an infantry attack, it is a straight up monster.

Yeah so far I've noticed the TA is a beast. It comes out with three useful abilities, it's faster than the KT, and it can seriously pound blobs into nothing.

Playing mostly teamgames as of late, prefer the KT there. 4v4 are often quite long and you can get it to vet quite quickly with all the juicy targets lying around.
In 1v1 I'll always choose the TA over the KT since you hardly have time to get a KT out and certainly not able to vet it.
Playing as allies it doesn't matter which I face, the B-4 still goes BOOM!

Tiger Ace all the way. It is faster and shoots faster. The King Tiger has much better armour but that means nothing if it can't shoot back. The Tiger Ace also requires only 800 manpower to call in, the King Tiger needs to be built in a truck that is most likely going to be busy building other units.

1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 -Tiger ace for reasons already posted.
3vs 3 and 4vs 4 - King tiger, can't take chance with 1 tank..with 3-4 players too much volume of firepower available.KT being replaceable is safer. Its larger health is more useful against so many players.

Tough call, but depends on the support each has.
I would support my TA with vetted P4s/Vetted Ostwind
and support my KT with 1 panther (hopefully)/Volks in the rear
Both are extremely good and destroying hopes and dreams
