Having switched to the other side and now playing predominantly as the USF, I find their main battle tank, M4A3 Sherman Medium Tank, as basically pointless. The think is made of paper. It is not designed to go toe to toe with the heavy German armour, I get that, It won't go to to toe with a flak panzer never mind a panther. its get two shot by schrecks as well basically,. The thing is a joke armour wise. While smoke etc is nice and you can utilise it, for when it comes out, it is useless. Even with a couple of them, grens/paks/armour of any description can easily handle them.

Not saying they should be the same as a panther or larger but they need a little more health than they do currently, surely?

Sherman medium tank is exactly what it is. A medium tank, like the P4. But unlike the P4 it's great at keeping back infantry when you switch from AP rounds to AI rounds. It's main purpose is to counter infantry, but it can also counter armor when supported by either a jackson or at guns, it has penetration with AP rounds. It can counter a puma with a close range flank, help take out AT guns, and run over shrek squads. However sending it into an array of paks/shreks/armor unsupported is never a good idea. A supported Sherman is a good Sherman.

They have the same health of any other medium tank at 640. Most tank guns/ AT weapons deal 160 unless they're handheld with the highest being the shrek at 120. Yet, it, like the rest of the American armoured forces, can get back into the action the fastest when it takes damage rather than needing to rely on engineers or a repair truck.

The thing also pummels infantry and can put up a reasonable fight against other mediums.

It's a sherman, it's not supposed to be that great. That's why it has a turret top gunner, smoke, vehicle crew self repair and capture points without needing vet or commander abilities.

Agreed with the others, the Sherman Tank is fine. It has 640 health like every other, and slightly more armour than a T-34/76. AP shells are better than the T-34/76's gun as well, even more accurate against Infantry than the T-34/76 even though it's supposed to have HE shells for Infantry.

In other words, the M4 Sherman is slightly better than the T-34/76 in every way, factor in HE shells and it easily beats the T-34/76 in the anti-infantry role.

Plus it can repair its self which is very handy.
It all so moves pritty quick, it so funny to circle strafe a king tiger with a sherman and watch the KT helplessly die to a cheaper unit

Bring back the option to upgrade the Sherman's main gun like in vcoh.

Relic seem to like to remove options and then add them back in as commander called in units now coh2.

Its called sherman easy eight and its in game already.

And relic likes to do things differently then they were before, because why bother with new game if you'd just copied it?

How the hell a player can allow other tank to circle his KT ? It's beyond my imagination ... It's like cuckhold.

Good player won't.

A KT with a damaged engine can easily be strafed. And that can happen to a good player as well.

US and OKW ATnades have 1000 penetration to offset their difficulty to use, making king tigers particularly vulnerable to them (owing to their huge size and slow speed)

Hardly get good use out of em. In theory they have a lot going for them but that's it for US armor. It's the toughest armored unit in the whole faction. It's really vulnerable to small mistakes, if you get unlucky it will die VERY quickly.

I'm going to have to try using them really, really defensively or something because when I try to be aggressive with em, unless I've got some huge fuel advantage and the enemy is way behind in tech it almost always dies.

Since USF are being talked here, their RAT nades have 1000 penetration.

Isn't the Sherman virtually equal to the T34 76 in every aspect, except it comes in a well rounded tier, can self repair (crits), throw smoke, swap veterancy, equip squad wipe shells, obtain a useful combat vet ability, and get a good pintle MG for 10 fuel more?

Yes, and it also gets the T34's vet1 ability build in at vet0.
